I know it's still early with us not being in Camp yet, but whatdya think.

Aug 31....tough game at Nebraska but I think if there was any year to get it done this could be it, 1st game for both teams anything can happen, i see it close throughout but their size gets to us in the end Neb 31 UW 21

Sept 7....Idaho will be much improved and mad about last years OT loss but they are no match for our Pokes
UW 35 Idaho 20

Sept 14....don't know much about UNC, but they could sneak up on us if not prepared but I see us getting it done
UW 31 UNC 17

Sept 21...interesting game I can see with the press during the week talking about the tirade etc...Wyo and AF always is a tough fought game, they are still mad we beat them in the hurricane down there a couple of years ago, and will try to use the tirade fiasco against us, but I truly see Brett managing the game and...UW 30 AFA 28 late fg wins it

Sept 28...Texas State, Dennis Franchione's squad is an interesting one and one that can sneak under the radar as well.
It'll be a hot one, but Brett rolls along and UW 27 TX St. 24

Oct. 12...New Mexico, after a much needed bye week to heal up those pesky dings and bruises, Bob Davie's squad is much improved but we roll along at UNM (our 2nd home away from home) UW 31 UNM 20

Oct 19...CSU, need I say more, the sheep are improving but we are much better UW 30 CSU 21

Oct. 26...San Jose St, a team that was in the top 25 last year and a QB that's supposed to be really good, it'll be a battle of the 2 and unfortunately UW forgets it's D this week......SJSU 31 UW 17

Nov 9...Fresno St, Carr is really good and Brett is looking for a bounce back game at home UW 31 FSU 30

Nov 16...Boise St, if there ever was year for us to sneak one out this could be it, Brett wants to win one against them, but think the test on the road is too much BSU 27 UW 20

Nov 23...Hawaii, the boys from the Islands are gonna wonder what hit them besides the blizzard, UW 49 UH 10

Nov. 30...Utah St, payback for the last showing out there would be nice, but they get it in the end USU 31 UW 28

8-4, we'll go bowling somewhere!!!!!! GO POKES...hope I'm right

Hope you're right on the score. I got a bunch of friends who are Hawaii fans (sportshawaii.com) and I want a UW blowout to drive them nuts! :winky:

the year of the wide receiver! right now I'm wondering how far they can carry us... but there are so many good ones on this team I think we will see an increase in explosive plays (20+ yards). there is just so damn much experience between Ruffran, Claiborne, Herron, Norman, Montgomery... then add in sewell and brown and maulhardt and gentry and nzeocha...

ridiculous how stacked we are at that position. then again, having smith as the qb doesn't hurt their image.

I think this is very doable not seeing through brown and gold glasses too much ;)

I actually have the same 8-4 prediction, but with us losing to Fresno and getting revenge on USU. I could also see that eighth win being against SJSU since we don't really know how good they will be.

6-6 or 7-5. I know, for predictions sake I listed the for sure wins....but obviously 2012 proved those for sure wins aren't so "sure" sometimes (Toledo, Cal Poly). I think Wyoming splits the AFA/TSU games, and might take one of SJSU/FSU/USU....most likely SJSU. Either way....Wyoming is bowl bound, likely to play in New Mexico or Boise. And obviously there is room for Wyoming to surprise in both a positive way (2009/2011) or a negative way (2010/2012).

For sure losses: Nebraska, Boise St.
Leaning towards a loss: San Jose St., Fresno St., Utah St.
Toss-ups: Air Force, Texas State
For sure wins: Idaho, Northern Colorado, New Mexico, Colorado St., Hawaii

With this schedule, not being bowl eligible would be HUGE disappointment....and inexcusable. Better rack up the wins early on, because relying on Nov schedule to win two games will be tough.

Ditto to what has already been said. 7-5.

Aug 31- Nebraska LOSS 41-14
Sept 7- Idaho WIN 38-21
Sept 14 - UNC WIN 31-10
Sept 21 - AFA WIN 30-27
Sept 28 - Texas State WIN 34-21
Oct. 12 - New Mexico WIN 26-10
Oct 19 - CSU WIN 114-2
Oct. 26 - San Jose St LOSS 30-17
Nov 9 - Fresno St LOSS 34-24
Nov 16 - Boise St LOSS 42-17
Nov 23 - Hawaii WIN 30-17
Nov 30 - USU LOSS 37-27 (this game is going to suck. No school. Thanksgiving week. Be the Ghost Bowl)

Two more points:
I am excited to have DC calling the plays
This ALL depends on our D. Smith will keep us in most games. Our D could hinder that.

I'm with J-Rod: 6-6 most probable with 5-7 more likely than 7-5. By the way, I was wrong last year when I had the Pokes again at 6-6.

8-4 or 9-3. Book it.

Just remember, I didn't respond to any negative nancy. If you don't like my predictions, either suck it or make your own.

Go Pokes!!

Don't forget about the home state boy. Lander's Tanner Simpson is going to surprise a lot of people. He is only an injury or two away from a bunch of playing time. Once he gets on the field I think people will say "damn". ;-)

I want to see Tanner play, but I am wondering if that the Pokes are just so deep at WR, it is going to be hard to find playing time for any of the under-classmen WR's.

He and I both recognize that as well. He understands that he has to earn the time on the field. He is the first to give kuddos to the receiving corps. he is talking baby steps right now working to get on a special team and make the traveling team. However he did run at the two spot for most of Spring practice. He is the third fastest receiver on the team and all of his measurables, except the bench test, would have put him in the top ten at last years NFL combine. Just had to brag a little. :-)

forgot about tanner, he is awesome. my dad lives in lander, in fact he is the assistant superindendent for lander schools. cant wait to see him on the field. I was just outlining our team strengths, has tanner already redshirted? I thought this would be his redshirt year. if he's good enough to get on the field now, he must really be making strides. having a marine dad probably helped his work ethic a bit?

3rd fastest WR on the team? Wow. With speed like that, in DCs offense, I think Tanner may be a surprise this season.

Shoot that sounds like Tanner is doing work ! My question is can he play safety or corner? I know hes a receiver but maybe he can get on the field now as a defensive player. We are pretty lean in the secondary. I dunno just a thought.

8-4 to 10-2...I really think Boise and Nebraska are the only games we'll be truly outmatched. I think we should have no problem running the table after that. Go Pokes!

Last year we should have had big win streaks, that never came to be after losing to Cal Poly, AFA, and Nevada.

The great thing about college football is that this is a new year and I bet our guys learned a ton last year...
