Post Season

So looking around and doing some searching, a lot of teams that were expected to win tournaments got knocked out early so more NCAA teams getting bumped down to the NIT.

Seems a lot of prediction sites are saying UNLV to the CBI, Can't really find much on Wyoming other than one site where someone has them as a CIT seed along with Fresno. It's hard to tell at this point I hope we get to play one more time but who knows.

What are your feelings or thoughts on post season play?

I hope so, these guys are fun to watch. I really think we may be a force to be reckoned with next year.
6-8; 4-12; 9-9. I think Shyatt has us on an successful curve. We have some deadly ball players coming back next year, and several newcomers who may be quite affective.

i just wish they coulda held off the construction at the AA so we could watch them one more time....oh well....CIT, CBI, I'm always ok for another game!!!!

Storey gym in Cheyenne or Event Center in Casper are available. Not ideal but wonder if Burman has considered an offsite location.

With how much it cost to host a game in those tournaments it wouldn't be feasiable to have it anywhere else but the AA

Both venues would be fun to go to though - especially Storey gym. Probably have to charge $75 per to just break even though. Casper, and the events center, with capacity around 9000, would work just fine though, at "normal" ticket prices.

Also have to think about the UW women as well, and the options for them playing in Cheyenne or Casper. Probably a solid chance they end up in the NIT - especially if they win another today.

But as far as either being considered, I would guess that nobody even came close to thinking of that - and thinking that far out of the comfort zone.

you know this is a great, great idea, schedule one postseason game up in Casper, hell I'd make that road trip and I guarantee it'd sell out....Hey Burman read these posts....lol, afterall after all the state tourney's being over, I'm sure they could enjoy a couple more games at the CEC

Maybe they would consider opening the Fieldhouse for a few post season games and even let us play in our retro jerseys? Sounds good to me! See a game in the Fieldhouse.

wasn't old enough and lived to far away in Buffalo to ever been able to have seen a game at the Field House, I'd like that idea too!!!

No MWC Teams in the NIT, CBI or CIT.

I stand corrected, First bracket was posted with Errors, Wyoming opens against Texas A&M on Wednesday in the CBI. Fresno State opens against UTEP from what I can tell first round games will not be televised just like the previous years.

Alright, playing an SEC team. Good!

CBI isn't what we wanted, but 18-14 isn't really deserving of much else. I'm glad we are playing an SEC school instead of some school that we have never heard of.

We are 1-3 lifetime vs. Texas A & M. Last meeting was during the 1985-86 season. It was in the first round of the 1986 NIT. We beat them 79-70 in Laramie enroute to a 2nd place finish in the NIT that year. Lost to Ohio State 73-63 in New York City.

I am glad the Pokes get an opportunity in the post season, even if it is CBI. Texas A&M is a quality opponent, by CBI standards.

so hypothetically thinking, if we make it into the championship game how are we going to do the home and home best out of three series?

I've thought about this as well.
It might as well be in Casper at the Events Center, or the FieldHouse
