Post a BYU memory if you're pumped about Cowboy Hoops!

One of my favorite periods of BYUdumb was the preferential treatment Saint Plaisted the Foulless got his final year. He used the Shaq bull rush move and never got whistled for the charge. He decides to enter the draft early.......

GONG!

In hindsight, Trent may have been well served to play another season of college ball.

That's the pressure you face when you attend BYU. By the time you graduate you only have six years left before you retire.

Tubs bradley gunning down ainge et al in the field house - triple ot. Tubs got on the PA to ask us to quit throwing shit on the court - ya'll relax, we got this, or words to that effect. Bradley, bill garnett, ken olie, a.j. ? From chicago, and mike jackson (i think). Wonderful fun team. A year later we played patrick ewing in the dance. Helluva game.

Umm, man I don't have many GOOD byu hoops memories. Only Afam ruining his career there and Jimmer destroying us.
So I will post a Utah memory. My dad and I went skiing one day at snow basin, then drove to salt lake to watch wyo-utah and I can not remember who the player was but there was a utah breakaway and they dished it out to a guy in the corner, and a wyo defender with long dreads came in and swatted that ball so hard it went into the crowd. literally. in the crowd. I was a young pup and don't remember anything much else from that game because we went to the utah jazz game and at about half time my dad and I were so freakin exhausted from the entire day we said screw lets drive back to evanston.
Word of advice, don't go skiiing then to two basketball games all in the same day.

I was at that game as well. Not only Tub got on the mike, but so did Jim Brandenberg. We were all throwing those yellow cups at Danny Ainge. I believe we kicked Tom Chambers and the Ute's ass that same weekend!

I could be wrong but, didn't we play BYU in Laramie under McClain and we had a similar game to what we just had against Illinois State? Got down early in the game and were down by double digits in the first half and came back all the way to win...maybe even by double digits.
If I'm wrong on that I'll post my favorite New Mexico-Wyoming moment. I remember a game agaisnt them in Laramie that went into overtime and Maurice Alexander went for like 56 points in a Cowboy win. I think he was pretty much unconcious from downtown--guy couldn't miss.

I was there too. Both Bradley and Brandenberg had to ask the crowd to stop throwing the cups. At the end of the game Ainge sat down midcourt and cried. That's when the cups really flew.

Provo 1986 Last game of regular season BYU was undefeated at home until the sophomores Dembo and Leckner came to town!

The barn was a great place to watch basketball. I still have some of those yellow "go wyo go cups", and the beer is still just as good as ever...

Waiting in line for an hour before the doors opened for the students when we packed the AA in 1995.

Also, when we won the Thursday night home game in Coach Shyatt's first year as a prequel to taking down the Utah team on Saturday that would go on to play for the NCAA Championship.

Why would I want to post a BYU memory? - I'm not a BYU fan - If you are excited about the cowboys you should post a cowboy memory like camping out in the cold at the AA, packing the house with 16,089 people and storming the court and watching us cut down the nets after winning a championship.

or painting the rock after Bailey got hurt.

I hope to god that my final game as a UW student at the AA against CSU this season is for the conference championship. So I get to experience the same thing the pokes fans did in the early 2000s

I don't care if it is either us or the sheep playing for it straight up or if we win then we outright win it over someone else in the conference. Either way I just want the pokes game against the sheep to be for a MWC title

I prefered the walk in, use my season ticket, go kick people out of our seats and watch the nets get cut down memory

Your a bad-ass.

That is the method I am currently employing as I am no longer a student. not as time consuming.

Being in the band was a HUGE perk for basketball season. While you poor saps stood in line and camped out (including the majority of my friends) I got to just roll in with my sax and get front row seats for the best show in town. Best decision I ever made :D

That was back when we had the under 8 timeout cotton eyed Joe band dancer.

I remember on occasion other teams would look up from their huddle to see what was going on - why the crowd would suddenly get so loud during a time out. Really brought great energy for the final 8 minutes of the game. Man that was a great time to be in college for basketball. Maybe that is why I took a few extra years - so I could stick around longer ...
