Possible BCS Contraction of Conferences

I was wondering if any of y'all knew anything about this and how you feel about it etc.

on californiagoldenblogs.com. it was dated February 10, 2011. (Yeah, I know I need to learn to link). it was written by dballisloose.

Cal's AD Sandy Barbour answered a question about BCS contraction. It went like this......

"Sandy question #4: What's going on with BCS contraction? Will we see fewer BCS conferences in the near future?"

"Response: This is on the minds of all AD's right now, as we're discussing the feasibility of contracting from 6 BCS conferences down to 4 within 4-5 years."

I don't know anything about it. I do think the greedy bastards will do whatever they can to make more money. I wonder from time to time how many of these schools are publicly funded and how they can get away with tossing around so much public funds in this manner without getting into trouble.
