Pokes vs Troy

Was a great win when things weren't going our way. The blackout threw us off then we could hit 3's or FT's and still found a way to battle back and pull off the win. Lots of fight in this team.
Dalton is so much fun to watch. He is everywhere making plays. James was the man down the stretch. He can really carry this team offensively when he needs to.
I am fine with the rotation as is. I like James coming off the bench. He can play the 1-4 position so I like that we can start the game and see how the game is flowing and where we need James in the game, where he can do the most good. And it keeps him fresh. He had plenty of energy at the end of the game to carry us and maybe it is partially because we haven't been over using him.
I just really enjoy this team. They can play so many different styles and give so many different looks, it is fun to see what they do from night to night.

I think if Wyoming can get by Depaul they will have a great shot to beat USC because USC is without their best player right now for about 4 more weeks. Without him they haven't looked near as good the last two games. Think we have a great shot to win 2 more games this weekend.

Papa Shy's most consistent players in 2014/2015 (Nance/Adams/Grabau) averaged 33+ minutes per game. Adams and McManamen averaged 35+ minutes last year.

As the Pokes move into MWC play against better competition, I'd like to see our most overall productive players on the floor 30+ minutes, including Dalton and James.

You have to factor in the increased pace of play and that even our best players will become less effective with tired legs. But unless he's tired or in foul trouble, James (and Dalton and McManamen) should be on the floor, imo

I agree that Dalton and James are the most consistently threatening players on the team but extended minutes doesn't equate to extended statistical contribution. There have been only a few players in history (NCAA and NBA) who's statistical production does not go down as usage goes up. It's a fine line to tread. My guess is that James wouldn't give you significantly more, statistically speaking, if his playing time went way up. I like the idea of having your most effective players on the floor and rested at crunch time.

One other note...I love james game ... he's so smooth. His downside (which he shares with Lou) is he can be loose with the rock. If he tightens that up he could be a great 30+ minute a game player.

I was at this game and that power outage was crazy but sooo glad they all had the patience to stick with it and play, we did struggle but got it done in the end. Keep up the good work Pokes
