Pokes vs Falcons

One last thing, I expect defections, a lot, no way guys are going to stay with this crappy performance. So disappointing and to many juniors and sophomores that will look for greener pastures. Coach E better get his lipstick ready, because he is going to have to kiss a lot of ass to keep the players involved in this program. F F F F F and yes I would take a CBI just to show up and play f n better.

A game like this doesn't happen in a vacuum. I'm guessing there are players on this team who don't like or respect the coaching staff and when things go south, a collapse like today is not a surprise. They played like they wanted the season to end. Maybe if everything went our way - shots were falling and air force basically went through the motions like a 4-14 conference team might, then the effort would have been better. But this is a team who all look to get their shots - assists and offensive rebounds are rare, and letting the other team drive into the lane is a very common occurrence. So when the shots don't fall, they have no other way to stay in the game.

this is a thought that truly might have a lot of substinence to it, the issue is there's still next year, unless they defect and go elsewhere, interesting thought

I can bet, we'll be better off "BY THE END OF THE DAY" shut up Edwards

Lol you called it, listened to the postgame interview Dave and Kevin did, and literally all the interview was was the 3 of them praising how well air force played, and will or won't we make a postseason tournament. Who the hell cares about the damn CBI or CIT or whatever the hell they are?!?

The little that Edwards did talk about the Pokes performance, there was zero acceptance of any blame of his own accord, but like normal, Dave and Kevin steered any conversation of anything that's not sunshine and roses away from said subject.

As they conclude the broadcast Dave and Kevin essentially continuing to pump sunshine....... "We were picked 10th and finished 7th!!!!" and "Pokes finished with a better record than last year and better conference record, and improvement is all you really want to see" etc. etc. etc. etc.

Attitudes like that is exactly why Wyoming athletics continues to wallow in mediocrity. It's an ffffing disease. Keep pumping the sunshine tho guys!!

he sounded like he truly didn't care, and oh well let's move on to next year, I really think there's some issues behind the scenes we will never know about, maybe AE isn't our best fit for UW??? time will tell

Nevada won the CBI last year and is ranked #1 in the MW Tourney, so lets start with the consolation prize and then earn our #1 bid next year. Pray that the CBI gives us a chance.

If the Pokes want to host a game in the CBI, they have to pay $50,000 for the opportunity to have another shitty team come and play in the AA in front of 2,000 screaming Wyoming fans. Maybe Wyoming will luck out and get that much sought after CIT invite and not have to pay the $50 grand....

I won't go and what also sucks is the students will be on spring break, ohhh wait they never go when they are in school neither, that's a wash. Go on the road Pokes, you need the mini vacation for spring break.

I'd gladly take a CBI or CIT. This foul taste needs to be washed out. Can't let it fester for 7 months. ugh

Getting beat by an even more inferior team will resonate better with you until next fall?
Maybe we could keep it close and have a moral victory?

Streaky shooting and turnover is what plagued this team all season, and it's exactly what I saw that got us in that 25-0 hole.

I know this has been an unpopular opinion around these parts but Dalton and James are not without blame. I know they are our best scoring options and the only two who could score tonight (51% of team points) but they also represented 65% of the team's turnovers.

Frankly, I don't think this team was that talented. I'm just hoping our Class of '17 recruits don't get turned off by how we closed the season and decide to go elsewhere. We need an injection of talent badly. I'm more worried about those guys defecting than guys who were on this roster.

Let me clue you in: The players who are trying to make plays are going to have the most turnovers. The guy passing the ball around the perimeter may not have many turnovers. If James and Dalton get the ball with the shot clock running down and they have to do something, then turnovers are a real possibility.

And yes, this team is not that talented. But they underachieved. There was no improvement as the season went on. The same mistakes and lack of effort on the boards never changed. Talent has to be coached. I don't believe this staff is capable of getting players to play like a team. Players need to learn their roles and play within themselves. No evidence this staff can get that to happen.
