Pokes v. Lobo's (W-Y-O)

Ok everyone. Now is the time to really see if it is the OC or if we really have a crappy stable of QB's. Lets get the chat going on the Saturday Night and Bright Lights in New Mexico. I honestly think that Karsten will get his touch back and light up the lobo defense. The lobo's may try and stack the box, but K will burn them deep and often. I know someone is gonna ask what I am smoking (which is nothing), but I think K will have a career day. I think thunder and lightening will be so powerful that we will hear/see the storm from up here. I honestly wish I would have gotten tickets to this game (in fact, I am looking online for a plane out of Denver as we speak). I am not saying Sween wont throw the occassional INT, but I am willing to bet it will be a 2 or 3 to 1 ration for TD to INT. Lets get some chat going on this game.

While I think we will be much improved and expect we find away to win I think the offense will still sputter at times. I don't expect to see 500 or 600 yards of offense, though I would enjoy that thoroughly. NM has a solid defense. I think Karsten will look like a D1 Qb, Stewart will be a welcome addition and Thunder and Lightining will be their solid selves. I will stick with my prediction of 31-13.

I agree with your 31 points for WYO, but think the D will rally and pitch a shut out or dam close to one. I say 31-3 at worst. I dont expect K to be perfect, so I will say 350 yards in the air, 3 TD's and 1INT (maybe 2).

Man - I thought I was the positive voice on this board. Glad to see some signs of optimism with Pokes fans. Even I think 31-3 and 350 passing yards is a stretch. Would love to see it though.

Referring to my vision the other night...again...I predict UW 31 NM 20. I think, just by Glenn making the comment that Karsten will not be "looking over his shoulder" should give him enough of a confidence spike to throw the ball...without hesitation. That will lead to completions if our stonefingered WR's can hang on...and ultimately lead to even further confidence & a VICTORY for the Pokes!

Marlboro reds....nothing else. Hell, I am honestly looking to see if I can get a flight down tomorrow and get a red eye flight back after the game. I am stoked to see K back at the helm and really fired up. He has looked fantastic this week at practice (sources tell me as I was not there). I am told he looks the best he has since he has been here. Large and in charge is the description. I hope its true. With that said, I still have not let Glenn of the hook. He threw Sween under the bus for Crum(my) for no good reason. Now it seems he is hoping K can save his job.

It was a vision...and it wasn't laced with any type of illegal substance or booze...believe it or not. And...if my vision holds true...we win. If not, I will buy every WyoNation poster a beer (that is of course of age) at tailgate on the 11th. Because we will all need it.

McPeachy, I will split the bill with ya. However, shouldnt those whom are speculative (and rightfully so) buy us a beer? I certainly dont blame anyone for being cautious. I was as well until my conversation last night. Has anyone else been to practice this week? Can anyone give any insite?

I hope you guys are right. The Pokes need a W in the worst way. I have to go to Salt Lake tomorrow so I'll be watching the game at a sports bar down there. Sure would be nice to enjoy a win while I'm at the Ewets home. Go Pokes!

Salt Lake? Ouch. Be sure to wear your rubbers.

You have a point! I have been to one practice this week (was in Laramie for a meetign)...and honestly...we don't look much different. Karsten does have good command...but hell, he had that when he was a RFr! If anything, we don't look "down" either...which I guess would be positive. I think it will pan out though...I really do.

What day did you go to practice. My bro when wednesday. He thought there was alot of difference in attitude mechanics. He thought K was throwing the ball well and that the receivers were actually catching them. I know, that sounds strange and impossible, but that was his thoughts. I was shocked to hear the receivers were actually catching the ball, but that was his claim.

Wednesday I was in Laramie. I hope your bro is right...if so...we will beat NM Saturday, no doubt.

 This thread cracks me up. I would be surprised if we score more than three touchdowns in one game this year. Our offense has been pathetic for 2 years or more, what makes you guys think that all of a sudden we are going to break out and put up 31 pts? I predict a loss, probably a blow-out, as it looks like our defense has already given up on the year.

NM - 34
UW - 13

Pokner,

I certainly understand your lack of confidence in the O. I think that since there is a true leader at QB now that the O will perform. The D will rally and this team will come together. Atleast that is what I hope. And from what I understand, this is the best practice week they have had in a year and a half. I hope I am right and you are wrong. If I am wrong, lol, you will see me on here sunday or monday with my hat in my hand. LOL.

Wyo 24, NM 16

We earn a couple TDs, get an easy one after a turnover, and earn one FG.
We turn it over a couple times for field goals, they earn one FG and bust 1 long TD.

My prediction/hope. They struggled to beat NMSU, hope they plan like that against us (yes, I think we are much better than NMSU)

I hate to be a pessimist, but I just lack confidence in K and his penchant for overthrowing receivers. Still, I think D-Mo finally breaks a 70 yard TD run, and this time the speedy NDSU linebacker won't be there to run him down from behind. I like the pokes to finally cover a spread this year, but I really don't see us winning a road game, not exactly Glenn's forte. There is nothing I would love more then to be wrong, but I think we lose this one 21-13.

Those are great points. I think (and hope) K is settled down this game and brings it all together. I believe he will make some mistakes, but think that K will overcome them. That is what I like better about K is that if the Lobo's load the box then he will burn them deep. he has done it in the past and I think he will light them up tomorrow night. I hope his mentality is to "go big or go home." If he has that attitude then he will have a great game.
