Pokes to utilize fullback, QB under center this season

Two weeks ago, I almost made a post about bringing in a goal line package...

and my reasoning for this would be to get pittser on the field. I was thinking that they might try to split quarterback time this year... and pittser is more accustomed to running goal-line offense.

Spread some snaps to pittser like they do with tebow in denver.

I didn't post it because i didnt think it had enough legs to be worth reading. I wouldnt be suprised, though, to see pittser taking snaps inside the redzone.

Plus Pittser could do some QB sneaks as well, considering that he was in a run heavy offense in high school. Maybe they will do some of the power I triple option things too.

how many D-1 coaches aren't assholes? not many. I don't care about any of this as long as we start putting up some points and being competitive. I'm sick of the blowouts. I can take not making a bowl game this year, but we damn well better compete in all our loses.
If we win the games that we "could" I think we have a chance at a bowl game. It'll be hard with 2 FCS teams on our schedule as there's no room for error. But I am prepared for a few blow outs from TCU, Nebraska and Boise. They'll all need huge wins to help their rankings. If they look past us, maybe we'll cause some headaches. But I can see their coaches having them focused and prepared as in previous years.

I remember when losing by 14 was getting stomped! Now I just hope we keep with within 40 against the big boys!

I do think we should go to a bowl game this year. I think the football gods will let us beat AF this year and we won't lose 2 games that we should always win (UNLV and UNM). I'm just saying, I could take not going to a bowl if we played close in ALL of our games.

and come to think of it... I would bet my ass that straton plays in this package as well, break the huddle and put straton under center, with the qb wideout... naaaaa, nevermind. Who uses the wildcat anymore?

TCU and BSU did I think.

According to rockchalktalk.com Kansas is going to use a fullback in their spread offense in hopes of improving their production. Seems like it could work as a different option if the offense becomes stagnant, and at the least this formation should improve our goaline run game.

This seems as simple to me as "we failed in way more short yardage situations last season than we should have because we didn't have a power run package in the damn playbook." I don't really think this is rocket science.

This. I think this is getting blown way out of proportion.

Agreed. It never hurts to have a more flexible offense, and it just sounds like he's adding it to the play book. No more speed option plays on 3rd and 3. :D

Relax, when we are winning no one will care how the offense looks, who DC talks to or where he spends his time.

His family is in Missouri, it makes sense for him to be there. Do you think Purdue cried everytime Tiller came back to Wyoming?

Smokescreen? could be, truth? could be. I just don't think any of it is worth getting upset about until we see it on the field in a game, whether it works or not.

I am still very optimistic about this season. cant wait.

bump.
