Pokes in the Pros: Divisional Weekend

From the desk of the UW AD

The city of Laramie received a lot of love Saturday during the Divisional Round playoff matchup between Buffalo and Denver. Whether it was in relation to Laramie-native, Frank Crum, or Laramie super star, Josh Allen, the Gem City of the Plains was referenced multiple times.

The first Laramie name drop occurred when former University of Wyoming offensive lineman Frank Crum rumbled into the end zone in a gadget-play touchdown.

Another Laramie mention occurred when referencing former Wyoming quarterback Allen and one of his remarkable plays.

Only one former Wyoming Cowboy could win, and Crum moves on after a 33-30 overtime win for the Broncos. Crum had the touchdown and participated in three other snaps, as his squad advances to host New England in the AFC Championship on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Below is a list of all the former Wyoming student-athletes and how they performed in the Divisional Round.

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Allen and the Bills’ season came to a close Saturday in the Divisional Round. He was 25-for-39 for 283 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran it 12 times totaling 66 yards.

In addition to the regular season, Allen finishes going 372-for-534 for 4,224 yards with 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He ran it 135 times for 678 yards with 16 scores.

Chad Muma, New England Patriots
Muma recorded a stat in the Patriots’ 28-16 win over Houston. He made one tackle.

In addition to the regular season, Muma has made 10 tackles in nine games played between Indianapolis and New England.

The Patriots travel to Denver on Sunday for the ACF Championship.
