Pokes and Chokes: Saluting the Military

One of the differences in the last drive was that AF went to a true zone coverage which was different from their man and man over coverage throughout the game. You see with a prevent zone, like they played n the last drive seams and softs spots develop in the coverages and it is easier to hit the midrange routs. Gentry's seam route is a prime example of a soft spot in the zone coverage.

Actually, I would put the defensive secondary as a choke. Some really bad missed tackles and broken coverage throughout the game.
I hate calling out individual players, but DeAndre Jones was effing TERRIBLE Saturday night. Dude got burned every play, and couldn't tackle a pee wee running back. We're extremely lucky that Pearson couldn't hit the receivers that blew by Jones all night.

I really like Jones personally, he's a great guy, but he has struggled this year. His tackling needs to improve drastically for this defense to continue to be good. That goes for all the cornerbacks though, Blair has missed a few tackles on those quick passes as well.

I felt bad for both of them (especially Jones). Both he and Burns were overmatched all day. Why Caldouche didn't keep throwing is beyond me. Thankfully our safeties played well enough to keep things somewhat in front of them.
