Yeah, the o-line choked big time. Smith was trying and getting more frustrated (causing his throws to be off), but the o-line was doing lousy with protection and opening holes for running. Or you could put the recieving corps down, as they couldn't seem to catch a cold exept for Gentry and Rufran, well, at least until Rufran went down with an injury.

I debated putting the O-Line down for a Choke but if Smith gets all of the credit when The Pokes win he needs to take some of the heat when they lose too. That is why I went with Smith.

Agree with your assessment across the board. Brett did not have his A game and looked bad out there, o line was bad receivers were not great, really you could have said the whole offense was a choke for three quarters of the game

I would put the BIG choke on the coaching staff:

1. We weren't prepared, and had a shit game plan
2. End of the second half conservative bed wetting
3. The play calling in general
4. And we replaced English with Tormey for WHAT reason?
5. No leadership from anyone / anywhere - only a glimpse from Huff the entire game!

We started slow, but were turning it around when the game was halted.

When I was 20, I would not have responded well to a 3 1/2 hour game delay and then playing at midnight on the road.

I"m chalking this one up to crappy circumstances and the annual bad loss. It's out of the way now.

I vote chokes for the play of our front 7. Numerous missed tackles. D-Line getting pushed 2-3 yards off the ball every play. Slow to the ball. It seemed like every tackle was being made by the secondary. I felt like I was watching a re-run of our 2011 games versus Utah State and Temple.

I would say Huff was a bright spot.

Yup you nailed it McPeachy. Coaching staff was unprepared. They had nothing to combat what they ere doing defensively.

I want to give Ethan Wood some extra attention. His average would've gone up quite a bit if it wasn't for that failed effort to stop the ball inside the 1 yard line. His punts are AWESOME for walk-on freshman. And he's drilling it into the endzone on kickoffs already too. I REALLY hope he sticks around for 4 years if he plays like this. He's a weapon for sure.

As to the first part of that question- 7 TDs and almost 500 yards given up to UTEP in FoCo.
As to the second part, damn good question...

What was it the old man used to say...nothing plus nothing is still nothing? Well, nothing minus nothing plus nothing is still - nothing!

Appears that the old man wisely avoided dividing by nothing.
