Poinsettia Bowl

The matchup I wanted the least. Their offense is pretty much a nightmare for our defense with the injuries we have. :(

And it's the one team I can't stand losing to. Hopefully those assholes don't seriously hurt too many of our players.
 
Wow! You can still earn your man card back. They can most definatley be beat - almost 3 weeks to prepare. Embrace the opportunity. See you there!!!
 
Exactly who I wanted. Obviously would be nice to be in Vegas, but love matching up with these assholes again

Pro style with a fast, mobile QB (who thankfully hasn't had a ton of snaps) and a powerful veteran runningback who doesn't shy from contact.

His arm went 180 degrees the wrong way. Tore a bunch of tendons. I'd be surprised if he's back next year
 
I married into a family that is big byu fans (which is one reason to not like this bowl matchup) but because I'm part of this family I watch a lot of byu games and follow the program closely so I have something to talk about at family dinners.

This matchup is actually a pretty good matchup. They have an excellent running back and a pretty good running game but they have garbage wide receivers.

I think it's fair to compare their team to San Diego state.

A good running team with avg at best passing game and a good run defense.

The teams strength is defense and they don't have many high scoring games.

They played a garbage November schedule and only beat one team that finished with a winning record this year and that was the mighty Toledo squad they eeked out a win in a last second field goal.

Their quarterback will start his first game of the season in the bowl game as Taysom hill was injured in their game against Utah state and is out for the year.

They run an offense that is pro style and similar to ours.

Game is the night before hoops starts the two-day tournament in Vegas. Someone could make a nice big vacation out of that.

Taysom is done. I agree, he was a bad matchup for our D. Better be ready for Mangum (eww!), though!

The only worse bowl would have been the blue spud bowl. Qualcomm - big ugly stadium that with even a crowd of 30,000 looks mostly empty. Then there's the opponent. Worst possible. No recruiting value at all playing them. Two year age advantage to go against. And a school with a disrespect of anyone with a religion not theirs (I know - I lived in a Mormon dominated area for eight years)
