Plans to sell naming rights of the AA and War? Thoughts?

I don’t want a modern day whore house sponsoring UW. I would never be able to take my family to games lol. I can just hear it now.. Daddy, what is Only Fans, well, daughter, it’s a website where degenerate loser men pay money to desperate women with no ambition, dignity, morals or skills sell their naked bodies for money

I’d rather take money from Pfizer and that’s saying a lot

Basically, an online strip club.

There are some incredibly business savvy women who have made generational wealth. While it’s not my cup of tea - - I find your narrative of all these women grossly inaccurate.

The suckers are largely men giving their money away for the service.

yes. Maybe we could get like Lockheed Martin or Raytheon. Would rather have something like that.
There has to be a benefit to the company to attach its name to a stadium in Laramie, Wyoming. Not sure what major benefit those companies with relatively few Wyoming employees and Wyoming contracts get out of the deal. The low 1000s of people tuning into CBSSN on Saturday moves the needle very little.

TV exposure. There is probably a price point where any company would sponsor War Memorial stadium.

Sure. Hi Raytheon we want to put your name on a stadium in Laramie Wyoming. We play San Jose State next Saturday and it will be televised in CBS sports network and is projected to have 7,460 unique viewers for the game. How much do you want to pay us?

Raytheon - ‘I guess we can convince management to gift a $20,000 yearly academic scholarship to the school and arrange for a student intern from the University of Wyoming every summer…how does that sound?’

Yay, success!!!!! Big time we are!!!

Leaving Sodom and Gomorrah for a moment, I do think it is a good idea in today's world (although I hate the in-your-face-marketing of everything) and would hope it capitalizes on the uniqueness and marketability of Wyoming. From a Wisconsinites perspective, Wyoming is a place filled with potential outdoor adventures of every kind. Why I still go there every year.

Welcome to the War Memorial Stadium by Polaris...your outdoor adventure leader....

So how is any other potential corporate sponsor going to be any different? Would Pepsi pay more than a defense contractor?

Out of curiosity, how much annually are people thinking will be generated for War Memorial? How much for AA?
Depends, right. Are we getting OnlyFans or are we getting Ridley’s family market?

Our TV exposure isn’t likely to be impressive. So there has to be some other tie. Would Taco John’s overpay the market media exposure rate, so it can have its name attached in a place of its founding, idk.

FedEx pledged $5 million a year just for their name to be associated with Memphis athlete signees. Albertsons agreed to pay Boise $12.5 million over 15 years for stadium naming rights. SJSU gets roughly $400,000 per year with a deal with a local credit union. CSU gets $2 million a year from Canvas. Fresno gets $1 million a year from some healthcare provider.

Wyoming has to aim for $500,000 to a million annually I’d think. I’m guessing it ends up around $700,000 per year pure wild guess at this point. I’d think an OnlyFans might deliver $5 million a year for a short term deal just for the splash.

WY Office of Tourism Board has an annual budget of about 8-9nmillion.and tourism drives nearly 5 billion annually. We're the only college team in the state so favoritism is a non-issue.

I still think it makes the most sense for the Tourism Board to use some of that advertising budget to name the War and AA.

Themed weeks and UW sells additional advertisement to outdoor companies.

It's WY Tourisms Big Horn Mountain week featuring WYO vs UNM presented by Polaris. Come ride the Big Horns with Polaris...I don't know. Something like that

So take the lodging tax dollars that the legislature appropriates to the Wyoming Office of Tourism? I imagine that the legislature would look at that under the same lens as it is looking at direct appropriations to the University and its athletic programs.

I'm not in the advertising business but a private business is willing to purchase the naming rights, then the naming rights have some market value. The University selling the market value to the Tourism Board is different than appropriations.

Again, I have no advertising experience but it would seem UW athletics would be a good opportunity to promote WY's outdoor opportunities if done correctly--especially in some of the markets we play in.
