Phil Fulmer has a home in Jackson?

Rivals radio this morning mentioned the idea that Phil Fulmer could be in the mix for the Wyoming job if the piano man is shown the door. They say he spends most of the off-season at his home in Jackson and he may be interested in the UW job. Interesting tidbit but very unlikely in my opinion.

As improbable I think this is, if it did happen I couldn't fathom the excitement that him coaching the Cowboys would generate. I think you would see almost sell out numbers at the War immediately just to see what Phil puts on the field...

While I think that is highly unlikely, I'd be all for it. Maybe he could bring over some of those players that are upset about his firing.

UNLV thought John Robinson would be their savior too about ten years ago. Not saying it wouldn't work but wondering if he could really draw the same BCS caliber athlete to UW as he did to Tenn.

No, of course he wouldnt be able to get those type of players recruited here, but he would bring a name that is familiar in the football world, and lots of knowledge and experienced in coaching at the highest level of football. I'm certain that he could surround himself with quality assistants. Any good assistant coach would jump at the chance to coach under him, just for the experience.

I would doubt we would pony up the money that Fulmer would demand and I would doubt he would actually be interested in coaching at UW...but if we landed him, that would be absolutely huge for recruiting! Of course we wouldn't get the 5-star SEC recruit, but we would definitely improve in the recruiting department.

Maybe we can get Tiller and Fulmer to be co-head coaches since both of them have homes in the state (tic tic). The odds of either of them being Wyoming's next HC are probably in the single digits at best IMO.
