There was plenty of water cooler conversation about the Pokes at the office today. My boss's kid is bugging him to take him to Laramie for a game now. Funny, because no one but one other guy in the office has seemed to give a crap until they heard about our ranking. It's OK, though! Bring on the bandwagoners! It's about time there was some excitement about this team.

This is how all teams get popular. Let's see what a win over San Diego State on ESPN2 and a 4th straight road win do for the team.
 
we know who we die hards are, but our bandwagons are always welcoming and love to have lots of overflow!!!

All of those empty seats in the A-A were installed so that there would be plenty of room on the bandwagon.
 
I've heard much more talk as well, although many around me I know already go to games. Keep winning and the AA will sell out before the year is done.
 
Having a healthy Larry and a veteran squad that's our big plus this year!! Not to mention Papa Shyatt, he's the real deal
 
Yes they are. I'm taking my daughter back to Laramie from Vegas on 1/24, which I planned some time ago so I could also squeeze in the UNM game. Now my siblings and parents want to join us...first time my sisters have even sniffed coming back for a game. Bought 6 tickets this morning, all for out of state Poke fans.

Keep winning Pokes, and the crowds will keep growing...
 
Reading this thread is a lot of fun. God I hope this thing continues. I keep feeling like Fresno is going to pop this bubble. Some people scoff at rankings, but clearly this is the power it possesses. People aren't ecstatic because Wyoming beat an average Boise team, they're thrilled because Wyoming is ranked! I want that # to stick to Wyoming's name, preferably the rest of the way of course....but I'd take a few weeks too. I just don't want it to go as quick as it came.
 
I hear you J-Rod. Every game from now on will be a battle. But rest easy knowing that we have a great coach who won't allow for a let down, and we have 4 starting seniors who want this more than any of us.

I don't know for sure what the outcome of tomorrow's game will be, but I do know we are going to play well. And with that, it is hard to not be confident of a win.

I've been worried about Fresno too, but keep in mind that this group has never won there. They had never won at Moby. Nance has mentioned both places as arenas that he wants to win in before he's gone. I think they'll be focused.
 
#18, #19, #21, and #24 in the AP all lost tonight. Meaning, if we win tomorrow, and pick up that elusive road win in Fresno, and any other teams in our ballpark lose, we could jump up to the teens for the following week.

I say this because, IF we want to keep the number next to our name, and we face the fact that we likely aren't going to run the table, we could boost ourselves high enough to afford a loss and not drop out.

But regardless of what happens with other teams, we need to beat SDSU to jump out to a big lead over them in the MW and beat Fresno to keep them at bay as well.

This is a huge week of Wyo basketball.

Sucks. This one hurt pretty bad.
 
I did not feel good about the game tonight, beating them the last two years had me nervous about percentages

Well at least we still have a number next to our name for a few more days... Wouldnt be surprised if no one votes for us next week.

Pfft...I swear it's the Wyoming way. A minimized version for football too. Start out well with easy OOC home games, create optimism, falter in late October/all of November. Wyoming Athletics are one big tease sometimes.

Damn. This one stings. This team CAN still achieve their goals this season, it just hurts to see greatness vanish as quick as it came....again.
 
Rankings don't mean crap for tourney. UW controls own destiny. Win the tourney.... where it counts. Doneski.

Except we still have all our players and no one got in a bar fight.. if that is the team you are referring to.
