The other statement, corrected, is "We SHOULD HAVE lost to a horrible football team".
But the Pokes didn't. Superb extra effort on the part of a few players pulled the Pokes thru in spite of an unimaginative, play-it-straight game plan that echoed most of the others throught the season.
Reminds me of Vic Koennig. Does DC just assume that the players can't learn a lot of plays?

Our offense is certainly not a joke! Our players hearts are not a joke!
Un-imaginative play? There were several play calls trying to open it up. If the corner doesn't play 10 yards off, the hook and lateral goes for 50.
Joke of an offense? Screw you guys, ACS makes plays and the coaches give him the leeway to do it! You want heart, watch Tooley's catch over the middle on a huge 3rd down conversion in which it unfortunately looks like he sustained some knee damage.
Do the coaches have faith in the team and give them a chance to win? Hell yes! Instead of punting on 4th and 6 late in the game and trying to use a D stop and timeouts, we go for it and convert!
Continue to critisize all you want, but the fact is DC has guided a team finished to pick dead last in the MWC, to a 5th place finish and a bowl game!!!

Wow, we bring back the boot and become bowl eligible and people still hate everything about their football team. Must suck to live a life of complete dissatisfaction day in and day out.
As far as the playcalling goes, I believe we threw the deep ball about 7 or 8 times and came up empty each and every time, setting us up on 2nd and 10s and 3rd and 10s.....opening it up was EXACTLY what you bitchy whiny people wanted....got us nothing. Hook and ladder? I would consider that a non-conservative play....got us 2 yards. PLEASE don't bother watching the bowl game, I personally don't want to hear about how bad you think we are.
If you think we can do better things on offense, that's fine. If you have some things your brilliant football minds would do instead, that's fine too......but I think the Pokes have proved to have enough heart, determination and guts this year to NOT GIVE UP ON THEM, like so many of you love to do every single game day.

Not only did he finish in the middle of the conference he did it with a several true freshmen playing major roles on the team and a large portion of the roster is below the conference level in talent. Wait for DC to get 2 (even 1 more will make major improvements) more recruiting classes of his guys in here and we'll be challenging for a conference championship. The future of this team certainly does look bright, but only time will tell.
