Our 'boys didn't give up...

To be honest, after the UNM and UNLV games, I was extremely angry. It looked as though our guys packed it in early (which I still think they did at UNLV), which, in my view, reflects poorly on DC and his ability to motivate. Then came Saturday. Wow. Me and my son went to the game, reluctantly, and were very glad we did. I haven't seen such a complete domination in a long while. Sure, CSU sucks, but we smoked them. Sure they rolled over, but only because we punched them in the mouth. The fact that we played very well and played inspired, as it turns out, redeemed DC a lot in my mind. His dedication to the Seniors and work with the underclassmen to emphasize playing for the Seniors and his dedication to the Rivalry, knowing what the Boot means to the state, tells me a lot.

This year's schedule sucked. We were not up to it. We were close in games, but just couldn't get the W. I see this game as a springboard to next year. While I was dreading the off-season with no hope for the future, 44-0 has changed the complexion of things. Thanks to the Seniors. Thanks to DC for the extra 7 at the end (44-0 looks and feels different than 37-0). Thanks to the other kids for playing their butts off. Hit the weights and get ready for next year. I'll be in Section 27 next Fall.

We keep playing the top teams eventually an upset has to happen, why not next year?
 
Actually, we get TCU at home and they graduate most everyone, so we may have an outside shot. As for Nebraska, I have a good feeling about that game. They have shown weakness in games like the one against us repeatedly. Whether it is South Dakota State or other teams...they just don't show well. I don't know if we win, but we give them a hell of a game - especially with their offense being so damned anemic.

Boise State will be very tough. I'd guess we lose that one by 20.

Unless Kellen Moore is declaring for the draft, he has one more year.

TCU's offense is going to take a hit, no doubt, but it is their defense that I worry about.
 
Yep, Kellen declaring after this, his Junior year, was the assumption I was making. I feel there is a greater than 50% chance he will go pro after this year. Call it the "fear the MWC", and not much more to prove in NCAA football theory.
 
If Moore finishes in the top 3 of the Heisman voting, he should go pro. It would be hard to turn down the kind of money he will be offered to stay around for one more year.
 
Just one problem, guys,....

The NFL could end up with a player's strike and lockout in 2011.
 
IMO, I think Kellen needs another year.. I don't think his arm is all that strong.. plus, being a Boise QB, he's less likely to get a look than someone like Andrew Luck, Jake Locker, etc. And he's a system QB.. Boise QBs typically haven't fared too well in the NFL (Zabransky, Dinwiddie).. so he's got to overcome that as well.
 
Wyokie makes a good point i didnt consider a lockout possibility. I still think the pokes could do very well next year, leading up to a huge 2012 season. The mayans had it right, the end of the world as we know it...when the MWC gets AQ status and the Pokes win a national championship! Anything is possible right?
