Sorry to post off topic today, but have a question regarding the Rock Springs/Green River area and I know this board would be pretty busy today. Never been to that part of the state before, how rugged of an area is it especially in the areas where people 'rock hound'?
I wouldn't call it rugged unless you are planning on climbing some of the sandstone buttes. It's mostly high
mountain desert with lots of sagebrush. Get some good hiking boots and watch out for the rattlers. (there isn't a lot of them but they can do a number on your heart if your not careful.
