OT: NBA Finals

OK, I know it is not, but I couldn't help but think about a rigged game when watching Curry implode in game 2.

I think that was an aberration...Cavs go down from here. If not, my rigged theory is going to gain a little more traction in my mind

GS loses both in Cleveland if Curry shoots under 30% from 3 it's that simple. Living and dying by the 3 point line at it's best.

Watching the NBA when the Stanley Cup is on is dumb

They are different days why not watch both? NBA Finals some of the best in the last 10 years IMO.

Still haven't watched one second of the playoffs. But I hear them spend 1 hr breaking down each game on ESPN.

I don't even watch ESPN anymore. One of the best parts of cord-cutting.

The games have been exciting but I'm pretty sure alcohol consumption has a 3-0 lead on me during them lol.

The only thing the playoffs have shown is that Lebron is STILL on a different level than every other basketball player in the world. The dude is incredible. Missing his two other "stars" and is willing and leading his team to superiority. If Golden state lost 2 of their 3 stars they wouldn't have made the finals.

Until LBJ wins a few more titles I'll agree. Physically, Lebron is the most gifted athlete to ever play in the NBA. He is a freak of nature

Curry was held every play. He gets zero calls for an MVP. It's ridiculous !!

Then Lebron dives into CURRYS legs and no call??? Wtf!

Warriors might win 3 straight here

Yet the two blatant missed calls on Lebron game one mean nothing? It's the finals, the refs aren't going to ref the game the same as they would in November. Stefanie better figure out how to be an MVP in the finals too, like Lebron.

I've been a little surprised at how much the Warriors rely on Curry rather than support Curry...if that makes sense.

They live and die by the Splash Brothers but in order for them to win they both have to perform. Dellavedova has been locking down Thompson and the Cavs double up on Curry and there is no one else to pick up 30 points worth of slack.

If they lose tonight it's over and I don't expect them to win tonight.

The Dubs need to quit getting too fancy and flashy. They need to get gritty, take those easy 2 point buckets, take it to the paint, and make the extra passes. If they can get any of the Cav's rotation in foul trouble then they really could capitalize on their depth. The fancy/flashy stuff needs to come when they are thoroughly in THEIR groove, which from what I've seen this year is totally within their grasp at any moment. GO WARRIORS!! Win it for the bay!

That said I was pretty disappointed by their showing the last game. They looked like they got the cocky slapped off their stunned faces. No team on any level can play the way they did against an insanely determined opponent on their home court. The Cav's definitely deserved that one just from their maximum effort from the first quarter on. I can't even believe that the Cav's are doing this well....but hats off to them. Especially the likes of Dellavedova, Mozgov, Thompson, and those ex Knicks guys. They are just busting their asses.

Final Note
Lebron seems to be an otherworldly player like MJ. I'm beginning to believe them in the same class. I mean did MJ ever drive a team this caliber to a title? Scottie Pippen alone was worth a TON, so I'd say no way. Lebron's bball IQ is outta control, his passing is unreal like some Magic/Bird/Stockton style stuff, he can back people down like Shaq while having a Kobe jumper, and he's just a HUGE presence in every sense. Hell I'm scared every time he touches the rock.

One thing is for sure...this "Make LeBron beat us" approach the Warriors have going on defense...it isn't working.

Oh yeah forgot one quick thing that I noticed. I saw a behind the scenes special on NBA tv or one of those channels about when Lebron went to Miami while back. I really liked how the first thing Lebron stressed on the team in practice was D. He talked about how that's where the teams whole concentration needed to be centered. Clearly he's got these Cavs in that same mental zone. Lebron plays some D and he gets his team to buy in on it too :thumb: Defense is about wanting it more and doing what it takes to get it. I admire those efforts especially as a Pokes fan.

Seeing Bronbron last night reminded me of seeing Brett Smith after every game his Junior year.

The look was somewhere between, "What the @%^& am I doing here?" to "Is there ANYONE else who can help me out?"

He looks tired. I don't think this it is sustainable.

He was definitely having an off night early in the game but once he took out that camera with his head the only thing he could do was pass. Series all tied up it's probably going to go to seven at this point. Personally I think they should have been doubling him every game because if he isn't putting up 40 they can't win and I'm not sure why it took two loses for Kerr to come to that realization.
