I've actually heard a lot about this guy since he first started getting recruited. As a Wisconsin fan (2nd to Wyoming of course), I have paid attention to Mixon for a while as Wisconsin ended up being one of his final teams before he chose OU. There didn't seem to be any character issues during recruitment, but WOW did that change. Really glad he didn't go to Madison now. Had heard that he wasn't liking Norman very much once he showed up this summer (no shocker there, Norman is a hole).

Super talented kid, but if these allegations are true....wow. By all accounts he was a good kid in high school.
What is with 5-Star RBs in particular? Most 5-Star players turn out to be really good, but it seems like 5-Star RBs flame out quite a bit. Leonard Fornette figures to be a star at LSU though...but Mixon may find himself in prison.

If the allegations are true, then of course he should be let go!
However, the police have not even arrested or charged him with anything. Therefore, at this point OU should not take any immediate action and should conduct its own investigation. Hell for all we know, maybe it wasnt even Joe Mixon and the victim erroneously identified him as the attacker. I am sure OU will be more prudent than the Duke athletics department was when the allegations against their lacrosse team came out.

One thing I used to know someone well who I don't like anymore who got paid a lot of money and received gifts to play for OU. But really he is not the only one I knew and it's not worth ranting about. I should be sleeping now.

I don't believe that athletes are getting into more trouble than before. Just in today's instant access social media world, news gets out and there is no keeping allegations hush hush.

BTW, Pierce Brosnan was much better as Remington Steele than he was as James Bond.
