The Vandals have a window...as weird as it may sound, their program and fan support would improve in the Big Sky. These are the kind of crowds they'll continue to get as long as they remain in the WAC. Reigniting rivalries with the Montana schools and winning games can only benefit them at this point.

I know some hardcore UI alumni who have given up on donating to the program. Winning is more important than status in Moscow.

If Idaho does go back to the Big Sky (was a charter member in 1963 but left in 1996), that'll leave New Mexico State as the only full member left in the WAC along with Seattle and Denver (both of whom don't play football). No clue where NMSU will end up. Hate to say it but I could see them going to the MWC eventually.

As for DU and SU, my only guess is for them to apply for membership into the WCC.

WCC is a faith based conference.. not sure how that would work for SU and DU.

I do know Seattle U. is a Christian university. A friend of mine got her B.A. there. Besides Seattle was a member of the WCC up until the mid-80s.

As for Denver, I believe it's a private school. If so, no clue if it's affilated with a church or not

you would think that seattle would be a natural fit for the wcc but gonzaga aint gonna have that!!

when byu leaves for the big12 they can backfill with seattle...

as for denver they could go d2 or d3 and just put all their money into their hockey program?

the more i look at the wac i think it just goes away?

Nobody wants BYU.

I heard someone say
Big 12
Miami, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Clemson
Notre Dame, Iowa State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech
Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State
Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Texas

As far as Idaho goes......I'd rather the people of that state get behind Idaho than Boise State.

alyssa i thought you were a fan of the sak manifesto? if you wanna see where all the teams are gonna go look at it again..

i know no one outside of the byu family likes byu but money talks and the big 12 and byu can make a lot of money together (same thing for boise too)

i don't think the SEC is gonna let either the big 10 or the big 12 encroach on their southern monopoly so over georgia's dead body georgia tech gets into the sec unless for some reason gt wants to go to the big 10? if gt goes to the big 10 i would guess north carolina goes to the sec then...

No, I don't like it.
I like conferences where teams are close to each other (like in the area where I am Baylor, North Texas, SMU and TCU are all so close to each other.......and that's what I like).
For Wyoming, everything is farther away but just play the closest teams and ones that have the long time rivalries.
Maybe I'm old fashioned.
I also hate ESPN..........
....and the bully programs like Texas etc. that make it hard or impossible on other programs else.
Maybe I'll move to another country in a couple of years AND HAVE SOME OTHER FUN.

alyssa, grouping schools into division that were closer together was one of the main things of my manifesto alyssa...conf-usa used to be all over the country now the north divsion is all based on the east coast minus marsahll and they are close....the south divsion is truly a south division. the sunbelt west is all southern schools...the mac didn't change other than addng ysu which right in the middle of their footprint...the mwc south is primarily right down the interstate from each other minus reno and fresno? plus i tried to to have a travel partner for most schools so for olympic sports you could do nmsu and utep on the same weekend so you get two for ones (sac state/sjsu...um/msu....und/ndsu...georgia state/georgia southern...la-monroe/la-lafayette....troy/jacksonville state...unc-charlote/east carolina...syracuse/pitt....uconn/bc....louisville/cincy....smu/houston....unlv/sdsu...duke/nc state...boise/byu....florida state/miami...usu/idaho

put students back in the classrooms instead of confernnes like the old conf-usa/wac/sun belt where you had some or lots of schools that made no geographic sense....

only problem is that most schools that have another school close to them always think that "we are better than them and never would want to be in the same conf as them" mentality gets in the way...you see that in nmsu/unm.....sac state/sjsu....idaho/idaho state....texas state/ut-sa....utep/nmsu....unlv/reno...und/ndsu...fau/fiu...georgia state/georgia southern...la tech/la-monroe or la lafeayette.....youngstown state/the rest of the ohio mac schools.....byu/anyone esle in utah?

Keep your dumbass manifesto in it's own thread.

the title of the thread is "idaho has discussions with big sky"....i respond about how some schools think they are bigger/better than some other schools and in idaho's case they think because they beat bowling green in the humanitarian bowl five years ago they are sooo much better than the other big sky schools....kind of on topic don't ya think?

No.
Closer.
Like the SWC (but I could do without the Texas and TAMU bully teams).

old school swc fan!! the good ole bus leagues aren't ever coming back unless "i'm better than you are" mentality goes away and unfortunately its more prevalent than ever--byu, boise, texas ...
