OT: Grandmother's neighbor is a dickhole.

My grandmother lives only a short distance from the university here, and as such, parking comes at a premium. So a few years ago she gets a spot right in front of her house marked as handicapped parking (she needs a can to get around) with her car's liscense plates on it so only her car can park there. This morning as I'm clearing the sidewalk, her neighbor pullls in to park there. So I go to him, and tell him that he can't park there otherwise he could get $100 fine if a cop sees that (has happened to a few others that decided to park there). And so he bows up in my face for letting him know that he could get a fine for parking there.

And yes, there were other parking places, but he decided to park right in the parking spot where he could get a fine. You could clearly see the sign and the blue paint on the curb indicating it, and he had been living next to her long enough to know that it is handicapped parking only, and reserved for my grandmother's vehicle only.

Cops will probably get an "anonymous" tip about it next time he decides to park there.

With my shitty attitude this morning...I would have started a fight with him. Probably would have gotten my ass kicked...but sometimes one needs a good ass kicking to straighten things out. :thumb:

Why remind him about the fine? If he is a neighbor, he should at least respond to the reminder about your grandmother...as if it really slipped his mind.

Also, why wait until next time to call the police? Why remain anonymous when you call the police. The space was marked for a specific person and that is a person whom you do have some responsibility to defend.

Waiting until next time is letting the guy off the hook when it is clear that he did not make an honest mistake when he parked in your handicapped grandmother's marked space.

This is how I felt about it too. If he has such a blatant disrespect for an elderly person, screw him - call the cops right in front of him.

Normally, he doesn't park there, which is why I said I would call the cops next time.

I would have agreed, but he had his second chance to get it right when you called attention to the fact that he had parked in your Grandmother's marked, Handicapped zone.

I also know how hard it is to find parking in Laramie after a snow. A curb that normally can handle 6 cars can only handle 4 because of the ice and snow piled up.
