OT: Car accident at UW

I don't know if any of you heard but there was a car accident over by White Hall the other day. My good buddy Cale was hit by the car and is in the hospital in Denver. Latest I heard was he was having surgery on his legs which were both broken. He also has a broken pelvis, fractured hip, fractured vertebrae in his neck and some internal bleeding in his head

There surprisingly isn't much brain damage. He is on a ventilator though, he's only been able to breathe on his own for 45 minutes at a time.
 
ahh man that's terrible. Best to a speedy recovery. I saw that Larry Nance had tweeted that and wondered how the kid was doing.

So...3 UW students on the SE corner of 15th & Ivinson, and some hopped up douche techer heading south bound completely missed the corner (by about 40 feet). 2 of the UW students got out of the way, and Cale didn't. I hope he makes a fast, 100%, speedy recovery. Tell him WyoNation is fighting for him.
 
wow that's sad, all for a quick fix.....knowing that corner surprised by how not more accidents happen there. Sure hope your buddy gets well soon, fingers crossed.

Agreed. That is a bad corner. Still, pedestrians on a sidewalk in the middle of campus should always be safe. They need those concrete posts or barriers in there.

My heart goes out to Cale's family and friends and best wishes on a full recovery.
 
I read about that in the paper. I hope your friend makes a full recovery. That area has always been bad for accidents, even when i was in school many moons ago. I remember seeing a guy on a bike get creamed right there too. People drive too fast through there in my opinion.
 
is that the street you have to cross from the dorms to get onto campus? it's been a while, starting to forget where streets are.

I Vinson is one block north of grand
 
Yes, students generally cross 15th Street to get betwen the dorms and the academic part of campus at Ivinson.
 
Well I was planning on visiting him down in Denver tomorrow but the weather is supposed to be bad.

The latest update is that he has had surgery on his broken legs. He was taken off of the ventilator for a while today and should be completely off of it soon.

He's expected to make a full recovery it's going to be a long one though. I hope he can make as swift and full a recovery as possible. He's a smart guy with a bright future. 4.0 last semester in the engineering program.
