Oregon State game

Last night I was in Corvallis for my first OSU basketball game, when they played Howard.

A couple things I took from that game.

Wyo would destroy the Beavs. OSU is talented but has ZERO discipline. They give the ball to one guy and just kinda sit and watch him try and play "kobe" ball...1 on 1.

The D is god awful... Their bigs down low fumble with the ball everytime a rebound is coming down. Leonard and Nance would OWN their matchups down low.

OSU is supposed to be a middle of the road PAC12 team, and we were "supposed" to be a middle of the road MWC team....so I think after watching two pac12 teams play live this season...the MWC is easily hands down a better conference.

Attendance: according to ESPN it was 3879. It certainly did not feel that way. More like 2k.
AA is MUCH bigger than the Gill Collesium but the G.C. did have a "nicer feel" it it. They have video boards on both ends and they show the score of the game and the amount of points each player on the court has. While our jumbo board is kinda crappy and doesn't really show anything. (there ya go wyofishing, you can take it from there)

Atmosphere: Umm.... I don't know if it was just because it is x-mas break and no one was there, but the atmosphere was boring actually. The few students that were there were excited but had no cheers going and none of the fans throughout the arena were loud.

Cheerleaders.... So. Much. Hotter. Than. Wyomings......

Overall: I am going to miss Wyo basketball. We seem to have a lot more passion for it, OSU is pretty much a football and baseball school.
Our team and program is better. And right now OSU probably has the nicer hoops arena but will not after the AA renovations.

And OSU is an NIT team at best, unless they pull off what CU did last season.

Go Pokes!

Why don't you head south on 99W for an hour or so and see how a real athletic program gets down. ;)

UTEP loss was tough but overall I'm happy with how things are going basketball-wise. If Jabari Brown hadn't bolted that team would be looking pretty salty right now. Now if we could just get hoops back into Mac Court...
