I still say that we will see close to 24K in the stands!

24K for your opener? I've been to highschool games here in Utah that draw bigger crowds than that.

Honest question, how many is Utah expecting for their opener? Also I have never heard of Utah highschool football being very big. Maybe the occasional texas high school football game that draws 20k but I've never heard of Utah highschools drawing that many

yeah i highly doubt theres more than 2 or 3 utah high school games that get 20k+.

theres maybe 5 in pa.

theres probably plenty in texas

a few here and there in fla maybe, same for cali.

prove me wrong however! i like large high school crowds, since im coming from a high school that draws 15-17k for our main city rival.

Keep in mind we are also playin a 1aa school for our first game.

Exactly why we will have a lot of work to do for conference play if we don't win by 3 TDs or more.

I'll have to dig up the stats, but here are a few big rivalries here in utah that draw huge crowds.

East vs. West (One of the oldest rilvaries in the state, games go back to 1917)
East vs. Highland (The schools are maybe 3 miles apart)
Skyline vs. Olympus
Highland vs. Skyline
Alta vs. Bingham
Layton vs. Northridge
Layton vs. Sryacuse
Syracuse vs. Northridge

I'll see if I can dig up attendance for these games, but these are off the top of my head bigger draws because of the locations. Most of these schools are within a few miles of each other.

There are less than 500 tickets available as of last Monday, most likely a sell out for this game.

This guy was stoked because he said a recent game drew 10,000 and that was unheard of in Utah hs football. I'm not buying anything bigger until I see proof.

There are 61 high school stadiums in Texas that hold over 10,000. And 12 stadiums that hold over 16,000.

5A playoff games can get up to 50k, it's crazy.

That's crazy, i'm still digging up the numbers. I had to email the Desert News to get figure, the state athletic site doesn't count Attendance as a record they should track.

We are drawing low for the opener because we are playing Weber freaking State. No offense, but why pay to go see Weber St when the Texas Longhorns will be here the next week, or later in the year the likes of BYU and TCU?

If I had the choice, I'd go to Weber St. I refuse to pay $55 per ticket for a college football game. I don't care what team is playing, there is not a ticket worth that kind of money. I have enough reservations in paying $25 or $30 for a ticket.
