On a totally different subject - uniforms

Anyone else think the helmet is too white? It could really use some of those brown and gold stripes from the 80s and early 90s.

Or you could go really radical and go for bold gold helmets - kind of like the Packers.

Otherwise, I like the uniforms.

Gold helmets would be too much in my opinion. But I wouldn't mind seeing the stripes come back to our helmet. I never understood why they got rid of them. It seemed to me to be a part of a late 90's uniform trend of uniforms with no stripes anywhere, pants etc. That's just what I thought at the time.

I like the white helmets without the stripe myself. I like the darker brown "steamboat logo" and i think I prefer it without the gold outline

To me the traditional Wyoming helmet is without stripes. Plain white with an all-brown Steamboat. It was good enough for the greatest Wyoming team ever (1967), it's good enough for now...IMHO. To me it pays homage to that team and reflects our desire to get back to the greatness that Wyoming had in the early and mid 60's. The only thing I'd add is the all-brown facemask.

Okie: The problem w/ the '88 team was Barry Sanders.

BELIEVE me, I know!!!!!!!!!!!

But, the 1988 squad could blowout the 1967 squad on any day of the week!!!!!!!!! That's what I'm saying!!!!!

The 2008 squad would beat the 1967 squad by 60. You are comparing athletes of the 60s vs a different generation. With current training and lifting, athletes are much bigger and faster. Thats just dumb. The only fair thing to do is to compare a team with its success in its own timeframe.

Obviously, the teams aren't on an even playing field. Athletes in the late 80s > athletes in the 60s. Plus the fact that offenses and defenses are more sophisticated. Lineman are bigger as well. Hell, running backs in the 80s were probably bigger than a few lineman in the 60s. Comparing apples to oranges, Okie. :) The only way to compare them would be to compare SOS, total O and total D and that's probably the best you could do.

I think we should change our colors (again). Brown & White would be the primary colors, and you could sprinkle in some "real gold" aka 1976 football helmet gold (like around the numbers and around Steamboat).

Fans could still deck out in GDG...

You shut your blasphemous mouth! Brown & Gold have always been our colors, and they should stay that way. No more "prairie gold" experiments, either!

There is the brown shirt/white pants option with the home uniforms. I think that would look better than the gold pants.

That picture makes me cringe. Our team looks like shoulderless vaginas.

yeah, they really need to show uni's in pads because it makes a world of difference. With pads I think they look great, that photo doesn't do them justice.

Did the '88 team finish 5th in the AP poll and 6th in the coaches poll? I think not. I rest my case.

Right on! Our school colors are brown and gold period. Have been since 1886. Quit trying to screw with our tradition!
