Oklahoma to the Pac12?

A decision by the end of September. I could see the Texas lawmakers bitching about this but as long as the UT/A&M series keeps going, exas will be allowed to hi-tail it to the PAC-12 along with both Okie schools and Texas Tech. Now if KU goes to the PAC-12 instead of Texas Tech then, TTU will be heading for the MWC along with K-State.

More fun from OrangeBloods. Looks like Texas is feeling out the ACC now.

I think they're using the ACC to broker a better deal from the PAC-12. Congress and the main political parties have NOTHING on Texas when it comes to political moves.

Texas and the Pac12 won't work unless Texas is willing to throw away its TV contract w/ Longhorn Network.

Meaning, Texas to the Pac-XX isn't happening.

More expansion stuff, Pac12 doesn't want to go bigger.

Why doesn't Texas just go indy and end all the shenanigans? They don't want to give up their precious longhorn network - the sticking point with the PAC, and they've got the national fanbase in the major sports to pull it off. Scheduling wouldn't be too difficult for them, and I'm sure the BCs would welcome them with open arms.

If they were to go indy, it would be best for the MWC if Oklahoma stepped out first, which would leave the rest of the Big 12 to implode. MWC could pick up K-state, Baylor, and maybe Texas Tech, the rest to the Big-10 or the Big East.

By the way, has anyone adressed what would happen to the Big-12 autobid if the conference does implode? The MWC has got to be next in line for it, and we're close anyway.

GO POKES!

If they wanted to, they'd find a way. I'm sure someone (CUSA, WAC, MAC, etc) would be happy to add Texas' non-rev sports.

I'm just tired of it. All of the conference alignment stuff has started in Texas or because of Texas both times in thelast few years.

GO POKES!

I would guess that it may be eliminated all together and the rules changed to allow more teams from a single conference into the party...especially if they (BCS governing body) don't deem the MWC BCS worthy. The MWC was very close to gaining AQ status until the three teams that left or are leaving got impatient. I still think about what a great conference it would've been, especially in football, with TCU, BYU, Utah, Boise State, and AFA with several teams on the move upward in the conference. With the first three teams gone now it'll be pretty damn tough for the MWC to gain AQ status, unless a couple teams rise up and take the place of TCU and Utah and are able to do the same amount of damage in the BCS as they were.

BYU likely to stay Indy if Big12 implodes: http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/cougars/52529349-88/byu-conference-football-texas.html.csp

I don't think Oklahoma will move until they are forced to move. Even with A&M leaving the Big 12, I bet they find a replacement and then try to add two additional teams.

You are lousy at being a spammer.

Pretty much every paper including the Daily Oklahoman, owned by major OU boosters, are saying OU has one foot out the Big XII's door and heading straight for the PAC-12.

Heating back up, OU regents close to approving application to Pac12.
