Ya I'm pretty sure the stream could be much better and I'm going to keep pushing until it gets better or I get email blocked lol.
Is there someone we can flood with emails to give them an Idea it need to be fixed. I have sent Tom several emails and i get someone by the name of Amil anderson that sends me back the all-access site.... LOL I think we should just blast them with complaints..

Amil anderson is who I have been working with, he thanks me for my support and nods approval that ISU had a better stream but not much else. If I had access to the stream it would be 10 times what it is I just don't know who else to send email too.

They have probably been dumbed down by the beurocracy at UW and couldn't care less what happens in the future as long as their pay checks keep on coming.

Which makes no sense because nothing streaming related is going to cause a financial issue as the internet is already paid for and there is no way it's being all used on a weekend day.

So I got some good news today.

So I've touched base with our video person and tested a few things and I think we have a better stream. It's obviously never going to be HD, but I believe it is ,uch improved. We are required to use Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, because of our website. Basically I went in and tweaked the input size (made it bigger), the output size (made it smaller) and the bit rate (made it as high as possible).

They even gave me a phone number to call and give suggestions if they might help improve the quality of the broadcast. Maybe the next web stream with be view able. :)

Awesome news a little improvement at a time is all we need and then we can get to streams like ISU

Wyo2dal, it seems that just putting your attention on the subject has started the square ball rolling. We expect you to interview asap!

If you correspond with them in the future you might ask them to stop (or limit) those damn, slow motion replays whilst the game is in progress. This might be okay in junior high but it is a royal pain for college sports. If they want replays, run them at a faster pace and whilst the action is stopped.

Good job dude!

The stream will be very close to the quality of the ISU stream, Like I said previously my guess is they were streaming at 400-600 kb and they were at 600. They are bumping the stream to 2500kb so as long as the UW bandwidth handles the load of people connecting you will see close to the same quality of the ISU game.

All I can say to that is.................................YHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The problem is that the stream is the same output as the video board so that's why you see all the replays.

Well the stream certainly isn't ISU quality but it's 10 times as good as it use to be. Just need to talk to them again and find out what video size and output size they are using to tweak the settings a little bit and we will be in business.

That's a big leap in resolution quality. One thing I noticed for sure is that you will now be able to know what the score is
just by looking at the scoreboard.

This is one big step for mankind!!!!
