Ok, I never thought I'd ever say this,

but could we trade BSU to have BYU back? Just take a look over at the MWC board to see what I mean. Yeah, BYU fans were cocky, whiny, and self-righteous, but this, this is already getting past that and BSU hasn't even played a down of MWC football yet. :brick:

Well, somebody is taking care of BYU. I read on ponyfans that BYU has accepted an invitaion to the Armed Forces Bowl that will be played at SMOO.

My understanding is that BYU just has to qualify for a bowl and those F-ers will be in Texas to play that bowl game.

A number of Mustangs seemed pleased by that because they are looking to play in a higher rated bowl. But right now that seems tough for the ponies because of their schedule. It looks like 6-6 is the most popular projection I see for them.
It appears that they start on Sunday night at Texas A&M on national TV.

I used to be indifferent to Boise State but now I can't stand them.

Some of the media guys in Texas have said that the Boise State girls need to lay off the butter. I just had to say that even if it's not football.

The BCS announced today that BYU will be treated like Army and Navy, not Notre Dame when it comes to BCS bowls.. which is why I think the Cougs accept the Bell Helicopters Bowl bid.

Wich means the arrogant bastards probably will be back in the MWC in 2-3 seasons.

Hate to say this, peachy, not to sugar-coat things but we may be forced to take the back-stabbing basterds to order to get BCS automatic status!!!

Hey, I not crazy about it either but our hands could very well be tied on this....and the MWC needs and deserves the BCS automatic berth.

Personally would love to see a F5+ tornado wipe out the BYU-Provo campus like what happened to central Alabama last night but...

Yes, I hate BYU that much!!!!!

The ones that blow my mind on the MWCBoard are the A$$tec fans. One solid season and they now believe they'll beat the San Diego Chargers next year. Even more delusional, they think Rocky Long will lead them to the promise land. The 2011 SDSU season will end in embarrassing disappointment. Just like the last school Brady Hoke left(Ball State). The Cards went 12-2 in 2007, and then 2-10 in 2008 when Hoke left. The Cardinals returned their star RB and lots of defensive studs, yet still fluttered the following year. That's what Hoke meant to them, and most likely SDSU too. Watch the Aztecs be the surprise f!ck up of 2011.

I can't wait, either.

They sure do think they are unbeatable - especially by Wyoming. I don't think there is a fan from any other MWC school that thinks they will lose to Wyoming. We still have a little way to go to get to the top, but we will be a lot better than they think. I still think we'll go bowling (that means 7 wins this season). QB & OL will be key, but our new OC, speed, and depth on the entire team will be a positive I believe.

With the exception of TCU and BSU, I just don't think any other MWC team will be any deeper than the Cowboys. Maybe AFA? Bottom line: other MWC fans are overestimating what they have to work with this year. :twocents:

Not to piss in your cereal, but I'm pretty sure us Cowboys fans do the same every single season. As promising as our young QB's may look in practice and scrimmage, for all we know, they may be complete headcases once they reach a real Division I game.

I'll also wait with being optimistic until I've seen our offensive line in a real game - I'm not sure why the weakest part of the team magically turned into a strength over an off-season.

That said, the way we ended last season was about as sweet as it gets, and if the team can come out and play 110% like that every week, Boise and TCU better watch out. :D

We Cowboy fans do show optimism on this board, however, I don't see Wyoming fans making extraordinary predictions on any MWC boards like I see fans from other MWC schools doing.

That K5james might be the biggest homer I've ever seen on any board. SDSU think they are Utah's replacement atop the MWC!

So true. One 8 & 4 "winning season" in the last 8 or so (and that wasn't spectacular by any means...with close wins against UW and AFA) and they think they are BCS caliber. Get real.

They beat us with some big plays from their two stud receivers. Those two guys are gone now, so let's see what they have.

Our defense should be tough against the run next year, so they will need some receivers to step up to beat us next year IMO......but they won't.

Sure did. Had our secondary stayed home just a few more times on some key PAP's in typical situations, SDSU would have finished 7 & 5 last year.

And they think that they can shut us down easy, yet, we went to SDS two years ago and beat them with a freshman QB comeback, and they lost their top two recievers (the only reson they beat us last year). They have a good RB, but didn't we stuff him last year? Something like 21 carries for 31 yards or something? So what makes them think we will be a pushover?

Eloquently stated my friend. Let's heal the wound and keep the infection away. As bad as BSU fans seem right now they are only one bad season away from mediocrity, and then the arrogance will taper off. And they will always be better than anything in that putrid state of Utah.

Same with SDSU fans. Winning has a way of exposing the low lifes in a fan base. When BYU had average years in football they always seemed to have good years in basketball so the arrogant, self righteousness fans always remained.

I just hope the Poke fans remain humble when our fortunes begin to turn, and we act like we've been there before. And I have a feeling it will be this year!

Go Pokes!
