Offseason changes

Looking at the rosters from last year to this year, here are some changes I've noticed

Numbers
-Alan Herndon switched from No. 32 to No. 5.
-Jeremy Lieberman changed from No. 0 to No. 11.
-Trey Washington changed from No. 5 to No. 55.

Weights
-Josh Adams up from 185 to 190.
-Alexander Aka Gorski down from 210 to 205.
-Jonathan Barnes up from 240 to 245.
-Alan Herndon up from 205 to 210.

Good stuff! Wonder what drove the number changes? It'll be fun to see a #55 running the point.

If he is half as good running the point like he runs his mouth on twitter, he will be All American.

I kid I kid.

Haha. He may very well be an "X" factor this year. I personally am expecting more from Lieberman and Conway. I don't have a reason other than my gut tells me those guys will be better. I hope I am wrong. I hope they all play high level.

Good to see gorski drop a few.

If we can dribble drive and shoot some jumpers, might leave inside open for some easy lay ins. We won't need quite the inside presence. Barnes needs to throw that frame around and get some offensive rebounds.

I'm really quite excited about this team. Be even more so if we had a little more down low but I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll have a few pleasant surprises

Wow, Moemeka checked in at 6'5" 210.
That height has to be a mistake. Justin James is listed at 6'5" as well...

The roster is full of question marks. Marshall is listed at 6'2" but shyatt is quoted as saying he's a solid 6'4"

Yeah....the roster has Dalton at only 6'6", but the article says he is a full 6'10" and mentions that Moemeka is long, wiry, and can jump.

Yeah, I can't quite figure out the heights. Shyatt was quoted in a recent article (http://trib.com/sports/college/wyom...cle_140255c5-95f4-5771-81e6-3140c00fb54a.html) discussing how Dalton is 6'10" and Morris Marshall may be closer to 6'4" than 6'3". However on the roster, Dalton is listed as 6'6" and Marshall is 6'2".

All of the newcomers are shorter than anticipated:

Conway: 5'8" after being listed as 5'10" on signing day

James: 6'5" after being listed as 6'7" on signing day

Moemeka: 6'5" after being listed as 6'8" on signing day

Marshall: 6'2" after being listed as 6'4" on signing day

Naughton: 6'8" after being listed as 6'9" on signing day (also discussed as being close to 6'10" in the article)

Dalton: 6'6" after being listed as 6'10" on signing day

Conway, Naughton, James, and Marshall are reasonable but Moemeka and Dalton sure seem weird.

Maybe the coaches are sand bagging a little on our sizes, or at least being honest, as opposed to every other basketball team in the country...

I ran into Jordan Naughton the other day, literally, and whether he is 6'8" or 6'9" he is long...and a nice / polite kid as well. Glad to have him as a Poke, I think he has a huge upside, maybe more than anyone in the class.

I guess Jordan is the one I have the most questions about in the class. Sounds like he needs a little work even from what his coach said. Moemeka, James and Conway should be badasses. The jc should be a sobey type.

All in all, what a class. Can't wait to see who breaks into some serious playing time

I love to hear things like this. Shyatt and company have done a really great job of getting high character players. It seems to be the players that are humble that work the hardest.

Maybe they just had misprints for the heights? Someone must have snuck into the printing room before they sent out the article and decided to play a joke.

While I totally agree with your sentiment on our high character players it must be said that some of the greatest, hardest working basketball players of all time have been OMEGA HUGE PRICKS! I do think that Shy's high character guys really fit our Wyoming nature though. Shyatt has understood this angle from the get go and it takes a certain type to really succeed in Laramie. I can't even describe how awesome it is to see everyone just progress/refine their respective games from the start to the finish of their Poke's careers    . :thumb:

I remember the dark old days when nobody really got any better in a busted system. Long live these BROWN N GOLDEN days!

Looking at Naughton's twitter feed - He wears his faith on his sleeve. I like him already.
