Can't wait!
My hope is that Bohl has made these young men both mentally and physically tough.
NO MORE QUITTING!
I'm excited yet cautiously optimistic. This guy coached a team that beat a solid Kansas State team last season in Kansas with less scholarships and obviously less talented recruits. I may be biased, but I think we've got one hell of a lot more talent for him to work with in Laramie - on both sides of the ball.
It wasn't exactly a fluke win over Kansas State either. NDSU dominated time of possession (36 minutes to 24), outgained them 380 to 321 yards, made them go 2 for 10 on third down while converting 10/17 themselves, and they only had a single turnover.
Now yes, it was Kansas State's first game and they caught them off guard a bit, but no matter what, NDSU came prepared and outplayed them - it wasn't just a Hail Mary where they were dominated and got lucky, even if they had to come from behind to win it. I'm even excited about the fact that they rallied late against a solid team and came out on top rather than falling off and not even trying a la what we had under DC last season.
Whenever we've beaten big conference teams in the past, it's been teams that were terrible. KSU was not terrible last season, as they beat Texas Tech, TCU, West Virginia, Michigan, and Kansas - AND they kept it close with Texas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Baylor in their other 4 losses.
