Offensive production

From what I have seen so far this year, our running back production is clearly lacking. We are also really missing tight end receptions and Josh Allen's legs. Allen certainly hasn't hurt his draft stock, but we are here to win and must see these both improve if we are to make any kind of noise this year. I'm sure Allen is trying to hone his skills as a pocket passer, and will do great at the next level being that, but last year he was lethal because he was more of a dual threat. I think we miss Hollister more than any other player from last year. He was the Gronk of our team

Whatever our offensive woes are, they better figure them out quick, because if the same Wyoming team shows up that we have seen so far this season does, Oregon will murder us.

Bohl has mentioned a couple of times about things teams at the next level want to see from Josh. I wonder how much that is influencing how he's being coached this year....trying to keep his draft stock as high as possible.

This is the truth. Especially in a game where we didn't need his legs to win. It simply isn't worth the risk. I think I read somewhere he took out a large insurance policy in the event that he was injured but he certainly shouldn't take unnecessary risk.

Running QB's don't last at the next level.

There's a pretty big difference between running QBs and QBs who can run. I've never really considered Josh a running QB in the mold of a Newton, Manziel, Tebow. He's a QB who can run, like a Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Winston, Wilson.

Perfectly stated. I think they are coaching Allen to stay in the pocket and be more disciplined in his check downs and decisions. I also think part of that decision-disciplne
Coaching is leaving it to him on when to run. The designed run-plays for him got pretty well sniffed out in the last third of the season and really lost their effectiveness for the most part.

However, I do have to take issue with "...hasn't hurt his draft stock." The number one pick buzz has definitely attenuated. The first game definitely affected his draft stock.

I don't think he's hurt his draft stock as Scouts see who he is surrounded by and know that results are not what to watch for. They watch fundamentals, going thru progressions and ultimately how he handles pressure. I think he passes the eye test.

I will say espn is still high on Allen as he's going to be highlighted on gameday this morning

I don't care about social media hype. That's the only stock that's really dropped.
