Odd fact about the 2011 season

The crowd that the team played in front of will likely be the lowdest and maybe 2nd biggest crowd they do this year. Only Air Force will probably be a bigger crowd and its hard to see any of the remaining games generating as much excitement/noise for the fans in the stands.

Keep winning. Wyoming barely became bowl eligible in 2009.....when the hype for a bowl game arrived, it was too late to see a great showing at home. Give the fans a reason to be excited. Beat Utah State....then UNLV. 5-1??? When was the last time the Poke started out 5-1? Do that, and the attendance should spike a bit.

The typical Wyoming fan thinks to himself, "There's a late season home game against San Diego State this weekend. Should I go? I don't know.....its gonna be really cold. And they aren't going to the postseason anyway. I'll just stay at home and watch from my couch."

My point: The incentive for baring through the cold? Winning. Win, and 25K regularly is achievable.

These next three weeks are huge......This is where fans are won or lost for the rest of the year. Start 5-1, and yeehaw!!! A bowl game is near. Start 3-3, and yeah......I'll start brewing the coffee. No need to scrape the ice off my windshields.

BSU wont have many fans huh?

Boise's stadium will look like ass until that track goes away. God damn I hate tracks in football stadiums.

Eyesore of a field?
The blue turf is not going anywhere. That will always be there. It looked worse than usual on CBSSports though. Never looks good on T.V.

I hated KW Stadium in Casper for that reason.

After watching the Pokes play Nebraska, I don't think it is too far fetched to be 6-1 before the TCU game on Nov 5 (win @Utard State, UNLV, at SDSU). Even then I doubt we'd see more than 25k for TCU....its November so pre-purchase of seats will be low plus any kind of bad weather will keep people home.

Also could easily be 4-3 (losses to USU and SDSU are realistic too) and see 18k or less. That Nov 19 game with New Mexico could be a real ghost town.

For away games, AFA will have 50k plus. Boise will have 30k but be a sell-out so it'll be a good environment. CSEwe should sell out too but like Nebraska, it'll be 1/3 Wyoming fans particularly if the game is for Bowl spot.
