Now that it's obvious we're going after NDSU recruits....

Will we go after transfers? Kids can transfer from FCS to FBS without having to sit out a year. In addition, NDSU graduates a lot of seniors this year. Add that to the fact that they'll be bringing in six new coaches and some of their better players may feel like following the staff to Laramie.

I think it's quite possible we might see some transfers.

I almost forgot, our archaic transfer policy makes it extremely difficult for anyone to transfer to Wyoming.

I really don't get why you guys think it's so hard to transfer here...it's like someone said that then you guys all repeat it. I don't get it.

When I got out of the Navy I thought I could get credit for my education in Nuclear Power. I couldn't as none of the courses would transfer to Wyoming. So first hand experience tells me that it's the case.

It's not like this is a surprise. It's well documented. Wyoming doesn't accept very many courses that were taken somewhere else, so you lose a bunch of credits if you transfer to Laramie.

No, sorry.

They can go from FBS to FCS without sitting out a year. Moving up, you gotta sit out.

FCS to FBS requires, without a waiver, sitting out a year. Moving down, you can play right away.

I think it's weird. But, I would imagine they do that so lower division schools don't lose a bunch of star athletes.

none of the 13 verballed commits from NDSU can goto Wyoming, unless coach bohl wants to fork up $100,000/player, that's in the contract. 1 verbal had Pittsburgh & Rutgers offers and stayed at NDSU, doubt wyoming is better than pitt/rutgers.

FYI - Bohl has always shyed away from JUCO transfers and transfers in general, there isnt 1 on ndsu roster right now.
Bohl likes program kids, get them into the program, redshirt them, put 20-30 pounds on and toughen them up.

FCS to FBS you have to sit out 1 year. (there is only 3 true freshman playing at NDSU this year, that could hypothetically follow bohl and sit out next year as a redshirt)

Yeah, "in the contract"?

What contract? Wyoming's? Or the most recent one he signed with the University of Agriculture and Applied Science?

Verbals are just that...verbal. Any "contract" that didn't allow a verbal commitment to change would be thrown out of court so fast that your head would spin worse than after a night of drinking a bar dry in Frisco, Texas.

Keep spinning those tales, Sam! They amuse me!

You're right. They would have to sit out a year. I don't think that's going to matter though. If a kid is talented enough, has a good enough relationship with one of our six x-NDSU coaches, and wants to come here bad enough....

That contract lingo isn't enforceable. If recruits want to follow the staff to Laramie they know how. They have to initiate contact with Wyoming.

Although the majority of NDSU's roster probably couldn't cut it in the MWC, there's a couple of guys that definitely can and the best talent on that roster was recruited after winning national titles(freshmen and sophomores). That's where I would expect to see some movement.

With NDSU graduating so many seniors, and losing six coaches, there's going to be a lot of uncertainty in the program. That in itself will lead to guys transferring out to stay with the coach that recruited them.

If we're going to get transfers they could be from the following list...

NDSU-Inforum Craig Bohl Contract:

Most interesting, though, is the part of the contract that states Bohl would be barred from contacting any NDSU recruits for one year ... unless Bohl's new school had already contacted the recruit before his hiring. It seemed like a good way for the Bison to protect against Bohl taking his recruits with him -- especially in light of the news he has asked five NDSU assistants to go with him to Wyoming, plus the fact the Bison's 2014 recruiting class is generally ranked higher than Wyoming's.

Id say about 50% of NDSU roster easily would play in the MWC.

Yeah, but we're not looking to finish .500 in the MWC. We want to win the league. A lot of the roster probably could play in the MWC. That doesn't mean they are what we need to be a MWC champion. I would guess there are 5-10 players on the NDSU roster(that aren't graduating this year) that would excel in the MWC. Hopefully, we'll get a couple of them. If I we're to guess, FB, TE, linemen, and CB's would be the guys we go after.

As a fan of both bison cowboys and gophers...make that three...tired of the banter between NDSU and Wyoming. To hear that only a few would be mwc players and so on whatever. Even if 50 pct. Were mwc players there still as good as the cowboys then. (Phil Hansen is is the ring of honor for Buffalo) He is NDSU. Who from Wyoming is there. Just saying if our guys ain't good enough then faith in our coaches should be lost. As a fan just sayin'....I like both teams...but to down play fcs ndsu football...you guys have 3 winning seasons in the last 14... I will take a third title. And if our players are bottom barrel mwc players but tops in fcs...in Fargo I'll take it. Dont get me wrong...love both teams just cut out the b.s. about validation...Bohl is great for both teams.

Seriously..... Ndsu is a good team....but you guys saying somehow they have better players etc....okay...you are fans of your team but back to reality....and to come on here talking shit etc....we beat you with a crappy team....Yes Phil was a great player...but a knowledgeable fan will realize way more NFL talent....Wyo... Hell our qb is declaring as a true Jr.....

Hayduke is the only 1 trashing ndsu because he is a butthurt --- fan. REAL NDSU FANS LIKE ME WILL BE WYOMING FANS......but bohl stealing recruits might stoke the fire but honestly its not a big deal

He is going to continue being upset because his team hiring "bubba" isn't an exciting hire.....anyway...I'm sure ndsu will remain good but hoping the comparison isn't questioned two years from now

I'm not excited about Bubba being hired, but what's done is done. Hope they do well. You never know.

Plus, Bohl will probably steal every FBS level recruit he has talked to while coaching the AC this past year! Go Coach Bohl!

Hope so.....both UND and WYO had horrid seasons made worse by high expectations :twocents:

Its an insult to Wyoming to put them in same category BJC
