Now that AF and UNLV seem to be staying

Let's go after NDS to get to 8 and remain a conference.
I would be fine with that ad as well - although I am not sure they would agree. They have egos right up there with Whales Vagina, and enjoy being a large fish in a small pond.

We are apparently going after Toledo and Northern Illinois for football. Good programs but I don’t see why they’d want the travel

From a geographic and historical standpoint UTEP ,which was a WAC member with Wyoming, would be a solid fit. I can remember some great BB games at the old Field House when Haskins was their coach.

The history with UTEP would be the reason they get an invite if they do. They've been AWFUL in revenue sports for well over a decade.

I think adding UTEP an New Mexico State would be a good idea. It would create a three-way conference rivalry with them and New Mexico. Rivalries are good. Those three schools despise each other in sports, and perhaps in other areas too. At the WAC Tournament in Albuquerque, we Wyoming fans were right across the aisle from the New Mexico fans. We played the Lobos in the semi-final, and things got ugly between the two fan groups. UTEP had already won the other semi-final. After we beat the Lobos, the New Mexico fans had a personality change: "Hey, Wyoming! Great game! Now beat the crap out of UTEP in the final!" Very weird. Rivalries are good. Also, I remember some great UTEP-Wyoming games and Lobo-Cowboy games in the Fieldhouse and the Double A.

A great memory involving UTEP...

Winning the 1988 WAC Championship at the War on CBS National T.V....WYOMING 52, poor UTEP 6. Back when Wyoming could actually play really good football!!!!

Yeah, didn’t some NM and NMSU players shoot each other up in a parking lot a few years ago?
