How many people are going to watch the 4-6 Pokes against Boise regardless of game time? November the 22nd in Laramie is November the 22nd in Laramie. It doesn't really matter what time they kick off, very few are going to brave November the 22nd with a 4-6 record.

It might have a small effect on attendance, but not as big of effect as 4-6 does, or as big of an effect as late November does.

I think the 500 K more than makes up for the loss of attendance from having a 2:00 o'clock kick-off changed to a night time kick-off.

Comprehension is not a strong suit with me today. Are you saying if we had 12:00 noon kick off the attendance would be the same as the 8:15pm kickoff? I would think that we would see a substantially better crowd if it were:

12:00 Noon Kick Off vs. the Donkos
4:00 PM Tip Off vs. the Buffs

I'm saying it's not going to make nearly as big of a difference as 4-6 or November the 22nd. Either way it's going to be cold and either way we're going to be watching a team play with nothing on the line.

500 K with our inept budget is more than adequate to make up for the people that would attend a noon game vs. a night time kick-off.

What are we looking at? Is it the difference between 15K and 14K? I'll take the half a million dollars in that case.

Ok...I see what you are saying. And you are probably correct, an extra 5000 fans even (that is the gap I am guessing would be more in line between a noon and an 8:15 start) - wouldn't make up for us spreading them wide & dry for a night game on ESPN.

Yeah, because there are 5000 fans willing to attend a 4-6 Wyoming game on November the 22nd in Laramie at noon as opposed to 8:15.

Sure. That seems reasonable.

The good ol' boys don't need money. They already have the blueprint for success that they used in 1966.

Last time Bohl had a bye to work with, he lost to Hawaii and made Ikaika Woolsey look like a Heisman winner. I'll need to see more from him before assuming he'll be great off the bye. I fear rust may be more likely.

That's another reason I'm excited to bet the first half. I went to bed at the half of the Hawaii game thinking that Wyo had game planned extraordinarily well to be up 21-10 as 5.5 point underdogs for the game. I don't remember what the 1st half line was but Wyo was getting points.

Only in the morning did I read with much sadness and dread that despite the coaches best efforts, they still had players with limited skills to execute the plan. Hopefully, for my bankroll's sake, this game will be similar and Brian Hill decides to push the Boise State defense's collective shit in.

For reference, in 2011, WYO ended with 8 wins; one of our better seasons in a long time.

On Nov. 19, we had a 2pm start time against the Lobos. We had a little over 14K at the game.

Was that the year when they stayed in Cheyenne and highway patrol had to provide an escort because the roads were closed?

No. That was 09. For the 2011 game, weather was cold, obviously, was Senior day, and game to become bowl eligible.

FWIW, attendance for the 09 game was about 14,500.

Several reasons, my man.

Wyoming coming off bye.
Bohl coaching his team as if they're playing for a bowl.
Boise defense this year is less than stellar and they're coming off SDSU and going into Logan the next week.
Tape from UNM game.
Tape from SDSU game.
Atmosphere around campus should (might) give the players a boost. Also playing on espn so big portion of their friends and family can see them.
And stupid me, no matter what, I still hang on to the hope that Laramie in winter will somehow give Wyoming some tiny bit of advantage. I keep being proved wrong over and over again but even a blind hog turns up an acorn now and then.

Wyoming getting any points in the first half is what I'm hoping for.

I would think that Wyoming will certainly be getting some points on 1st half action, the only question is how many. My guess would be between 3-6.

I like it and would consider joining you.

Current projections show a high of 48 and a low of 24 for November 22nd. That's a fucking heat wave for Laramie. Show up.

That is great news! Hope it stands, of course, you know how that goes.

As a pilot who had to rely on weather forecasts, 10 days out weather forecasts are very iffy. Even the forecasters themselves will tell you they don't have much confidence in forecasts that far out (except for some major weather events). They are getting better with the latest technology though over what they had when I was flying.

I am a meteorologist...extended forecasts are little more than an educated guess. A forecast this far out will change quite a bit between now and then.

i'd love to make both but I gotta head down to Arizona for the Thanksgiving week to spend it with my elderly grandparents, and if i stay for both, man what a brutal roadtrip after that heading south. I may only make the bball game we'll see, but I agree somewhat 815pm Nov 22 in Laramie is brutal no matter how you slice it, glad they pay(ESPN) no matter how many show up...lol

FYI
For parking you have to use your Football parking passes for both events - they won't accept basketball permits for this game.

From UW

Even though next Saturday, November 22, is a basketball-football doubleheader, your parking will be based on your football allocation. For access to UW parking lots, please present your FOOTBALL GAME #6 parking pass for both the Cowboy basketball game with Colorado and the football game with Boise State.
