Not as bad as we think.

You're definitely acting like something. Seriously, read what I wrote in the thread that "theman" posted a while back on why we wouldn't succeed. National Perception, I think is what it was called. It will show you where we actually are right now. No we are not a top caliber team, but we're not the worst out there either. It's important to actaully realize what DC stepped into before he was hired here.I wrote this last week in a different thread that hold true to what is being said now. Don't blame DC. You'll see who to blame.
What the hell are we arguing about? I've been stating everything you said for months!!! Hell.....years!!!! You can drown this with sugar and glossy it up all you like, at the end of the day this can be summed up as saying Wyoming is simply not a good football team. I've been saying this all off-season while most Wyoming fans felt a 6-9 win season was on hand. They couldn't be further from it. There are going to be some serious bumps in the road this year, maybe worse than last year. Giving up 32 points to WSU is awful, and only putting up 35 points on an FCS team that ranked 81st in total defense last year isn't great either. The Cowboys are a bad football team, are they not? I got hammered this off-season for calling it like it is, and what do you know.....Wyoming did exactly what I thought they would. It took a 4th-and-11 miracle for them to prevent the ultimate disaster. But I'm a dumbass, right? Some fans seriously need to get real.

What are you even arguing? 6-9 wins? Who the hell have you been talking to? I haven't talked to anybody that thought Wyoming was on the verge of a 9 win season this off-season or any other in the last decade (ok, maybe in 2005, I was guilty of being overly optimistic that year myself).

6 wins was pretty much the goal that most had (being a natural pessimist, I thought more like 4), which I don't think was that unrealistic with 2 FCS teams, CSU, UNM, UNLV, USU, and BGSU on the schedule. Now, were most wrong about 6 wins? Obviously. This is an atrocious football team. But your trolling is just annoying. "Ha, Ha, you guys fucking suck and I told you so" is really not an impressive argument.

Here's the thing, J-Rod.. they won.. and put up 35 points with a true freshman running the offense. The defense was bad, but they made stops when it really counted. However, I'm going to beat you over the head with your own stats because you're not right. Weber was actually 107 in total defense.. hence why a young Cowboy offense was able to put up 35 points. However, while making your points you failed to leave out one detail.. Weber was 7th in total offense last year and returned some valuable playmakers, including a very seasoned offensive line who inflicted their will on many teams last year. Wyoming was 92 in total defense last year and returned quite a few of its starters. I think you can look around the threads here and see that many people on this site weren't claiming a multiple TD win vs. Weber, and I think the UW beat writers even said the same thing, they expected a close game. So I don't know why you're coming over here and thumping your chest telling us how bad our team is.. how about we let the season play out because we've got a lot of winnable games on this slate and if this defense can stop some drives better than it did last night there's no reason why 6-7 wins isn't possible.
I guess we'll see, huh? I'm not here to thump my chest.....and there are lots of reasons to think 6-7 wins won't happen. You're entitled to your opinion, but you're just putting lipstick on a pig. I agree, lets see how the season goes.....then get back to me.

Gotta be honest. We are already 1-0. I think we beat Texas st by at the very least 2 td's. The Idaho/BGSU game was not what people expected. It was exactly what i was seeing. I really don't think Idaho wins 2 or 3 games this year. And I really think we will beat BGSU. Neb loss, USU toss up. Depends on which team shows up for either team. Both are known to play bad games a lot, and then step up and surprise. But, I will give it to USU close. AFA beats us, BSU beats us, CSU we beat. they showed nothing new in game one. UNM we beat in laramie pretty easy, SDS, I really think we win. We knew how to stop the run last year, and their passing isn't that great this year. TCU beats us, and we beat UNLV in Laramie. That's still 7 wins. I see the potential on this team for that many wins. We'll see.
And really, you need to read your posts, because you sound like a cocky, egotistical loser! So yeah, when read it looks like your pumping your chest.

So we agree then. No chance of conference contention. Not a good team.

Were you expecting us to contend for the conference this year? Seriously? If so, then there needs to bit of a reality check. The talent and speed on this team keeps improving with each year of DC's recruits, but we are still too young to make a run on the conference.

I absolutely did not expect that. We have a bad team, and the evidence was on the field.

But I'm just pointing out the obvious, right? We gave up 500+ yards to an FCS team. Even Vic's teams managed to put away the equivalent of an FCS national champion in Appy State, by grinding the hell out of them. Weber, love them as one of God's children, is not Appy State. Did we just beat them by luck? Because we have 15 more scholly's to give out?

Not that I disagree, but the pounding of Appy St. occurred under Glenn, not Vic (and Appy St. was not actually that good in the year we beat them, just 6-5, probably similar to Weber this year). Vic did beat eventual runner-up Furman one year, but he also almost lost to a 3-8 FCS Citadel team.

Anyway, doesn't change the reality of this year's team (and it's a bleak reality).

Here's another. We could have been down 24-10 and had to make a come back to win close like Utep did against Stony Brook.

Season isn't over yet but thought it was time to get back to you.

You got me there......I was way wrong about that prediction. Wyoming pulled out the close games I thought they'd lose....and quite easily too. 8-4 and a bowl game is one solid season.....look forward to whatever bowl game Wyoming ends up in....

I'm hoping for the Hawaii Bowl for obvious reasons.

I got a bunch of buddies over there and once we beat the hell outta Hawaii, I'll drive my friends there insane!!!!!!!!!

As much as I like Hawaii (state, that is), the Hawaii Bowl just doesn't seem that attractive. Maybe send SDSU, as they're closer at least. I'd prefer the Vegas or New Mexico Bowl, for a chance to beat a PAC team, possibly Utah.

Honestly I wish everyone would shut the fuck up about bowls until we are eligible to go to one.

I'm sorry, but there comes a time to just acknowledge that a bad team is just flat out a bad team!!! That is what Wyoming is.....a bad team. 3-9......here come the Pokes. This is CDC's worst installment yet. The Cowboys might threaten to have the nations worst defense this year. Time to get real.

I think it is the tone of your argument. Lot's of !!! and "CDC's worst installment yet" Hey, I was afraid of another 3-9 season, but i saw some things the team was doing well and didn't give up hope after one game. One thing is for sure, if we had a solid D, this team could be a monster!

Our D actually is pretty decent now. Yeah they give up a lot of yards, but when a lot of drives are stopped by turnovers rather than points, that's not nearly as big of an issue :)

Solid is one step up from decent. :)
Haha, that's true. If they can stop letting people run through tackles and still force as many turnovers, they'll definitely deserve "solid"

Then again, it's dangerous to read into anything about what we did vs Air Force since we always play them rather well, defensively.

Not only that but once Jefferson (I think that's his name) was taken out of the game Air Force became even more one dimensional than they normally are because the backup QB (Deitz I think) is an aweful throwing QB. It's always easier to stop a team when you know what they are going to do.
