Yeah, we won35-32. Yeah, it was closer than expected. But why? Why do we expect these games to be blowouts or easily handled wins. FCS team do recruit really well. WSU is a top program in the FCS level. The Big Sky is one if not the best league in the FCS. So why do we think we'll kill these teams? Because were supposed to? I don't think so. And if you've noticed, none of these FCS schools think so either!
Oregon State who was projected to go bowling this year just got beat by Sacramento St. 29-28.
Eastern Washington took Washington (who is also projected to go bowling again this year) to the wire 27-30.
Eastern Kentucky almost beat K- State in Manhattan today 7-10.
Richmond beat Duke today 23-21.
Iowa State came back in the end to beat UNI 20-19.
Louisville struggled with Murray St a couple nights back but won 21-9.
And Tulane struggles with SE Louisiana 47-33.
We've seen the upsets in years past as well. App State beating Michigan in the Big House, Jacksonville St beating Ole miss last year. It happens, so why is it the end of the world after one game for us? Our O played great. our new freshman QB played lights out.Especially when we put up numbers like we did without having to open up the playbook. our D struggled. They did get better throughout the year last year. i see them getting better again. I'm not writing this season off after one game. And you all shouldn't either.
Besides those of you complaining on a different thread about BGSU beating up idaho, you do realize that Idho had lost their top RB from last year starting Qb, 3/4 of their top WR's and several OL and D. So was Idaho expected to beat BGSU?
