North Dakota State

Could you imagine if they come in and win the conference in their first season in FBS?

Surely they don’t stand a chance against our flagship programs of UNLV and Air Force, right?

I think they probably will. Both them and Montana State would have been near/at the top of the MWC this past year IMO. They can’t qualify for a postseason bowl for 2 years though. I’d bet they play an 8 game FBS conference schedule with 4 OOC FCS games for their transition.

They will be the new Boise with their fan support and resources.

I live in North Dakota and there fan support is nothing like Boise Sates.

This is because Toledo said no. It ensures Wyoming's, and the MW's future in FBS, on lowest rung. Keeps us from dropping to FCS. I hate that our management didn't do what it took to keep up as Utah, BYU, TCU, CSU, and now fucking Utah State has moved up.

I would love for somebody to give me the roadmap that the administration for the last 15 years could have taken that results in us keeping pace with Utah, BYU and TCU....the seeds of that split are far deeper than anything Burman or Seidel could have altered.

There goes our perennial hopes of winning championships year in and year out in the new MWC...at least we now get that Fargo and North Dakota TV market🙄

I'll go to my 1maybe 2 games at the War in the fall, maybe 1 away game for a getaway, spend my beer, food, ticket $ and pretend it's like the days of old and that we matter in this new College Football fiasco! I'd tell ya what I really wish we do but I always get crucified on that idea! Can't wait for our next "participation trophy" bowl!!! We've come sooooo far....nooot! They've ruined my enjoyment of college football and that's unfortunate....guess I'll enjoy the schedule game by game enjoy whatever win comes and not get too excited by what bowl we are projected for....game at a time!!! Go Pokes!!!

This is a cultural comedown for NDSU and not all that great for the MW. As a destination the Fargodome seats 18,700 and as for road games it's doubtful that many NDSU faithful will travel to places like El Paso, Laramie, San Jose or Colo Spgs. They lose some traditional rivals although I'm sure they'll keep their annual game vs the U. of North Dakota. The upside for the Bison is that now they can schedule a couple of higher-$$ OOC body bag games to help with revenue. And the TV revenue piece is better than what they had in FCS.

Meh all around.

Actually, they haven't been playing UND every year.
