Those 3 players are great on offense, but no so great on defense. Gores in particular was struggling against the Spartans. At one point he was 0-3 on dunks.
Hard for me to watch games on the east coast but was happy to see a local team travel to Laramie with a tip time I could watch. I hope Sunny kept the team after the game running sprints since they did not want to play 40 minutes of basketball.
Mind you NSU played at Hampton (20-30 minute drive) at 8pm on Friday. Theoretically they got back to campus to pack around 11pm maybe even midnight. Only one direct flight from Norfolk to Denver so had to be at the airport by 6 am to take a 4 hour flight then two plus hour drive up to Laramie. Then practice and play at altitude and UW looked like they traveled to and never played at altitude.
I know Sunny won't stand for it but is there something in the air of the HPAC that causes teams to be mediocre?
Went and watched for my 1st time this season. Good team, lots of good shooters and I can see a fun season with this group!!! #13 could turn into a crowd favorite, his movement shows a good b-ball in, very scrappy and a hard worker!! Hopefully they'll have a successful 2026!!!
GO POKES!! We need sumethin to cheer for!!!
