First..what a great win.
I had an experience watching it that I have not had for a very long time. As a young Cowboy sports fan in the '80s, I remember listening on the radio and going nuts with my family when great wins were happening. Was truly a phenomenal experience. Fast forward nearly 40 years and I have become a jaded sports fan in a lot of respects....but something happened late Saturday night that I'm so glad is still possible to happen.
I have a young son now and he is coming online with sports but the attention span of young kids nowadays makes some sports a bit of a tough sell. That all changed Saturday night. We were not able to attend in person but as the fourth quarter and overtimes went on, we were jumping around, cheering and going crazy! When Wyoming lined up for the winning 2-pt conversion I felt like I was that excited kid again. It sounds sappy and stupid now but It was really one of my top sports watching moments in my life celebrating that with my son. I just have to say for as much as I try to protect myself from disappointment as a pokes fan by giving in to cynicism .... Having that experience with my son was amazing and if he's anything like his old man....he'll remember that for the rest of his life.
