Nine guys in less than a year.....

I think Larry Shyatt and company just built us a MWC champion. This class of nine has everything we need.

I don't know if I can remember Cowboy basketball recruiting this hot since Brandenburg was the coach. We've got a lot of guys that had big offers and it looks like zero of the nine are stiffs. They all look like they can break into the two deep.

We got an ooper and maybe the fastest point in college basketball.

We got maybe the best true point guard Wyoming has had in a very long time.

We got a fast break dunker, penetrator, and a natural scorer.

We got a deep talented post, with size and athleticism: rebounds, blocked shots, physical presence, and fouls to give.

We got a marksman from the three point line.

We got a guy, probably several that are MWC defensive player of the year candidates. All of them will play defense.

I don't know if I've been this excited about Cowboy basketball recruiting.

It is a damn fine day to be a Cowboy!

This is going to be a big year. The team is there. Pair the success with the new AA renovations, and the crowd will be there as well. I've said it before and I'll say it again...the CU game early in the season is going to be HUGE for attendance throughout the rest of the year. That game will likely be a sellout or close to it. People want to see the new arena, and they'll want to make that game their first trip to Laramie this season. Plus, the football game that evening will only help attendance. Even if we only get 15k at the football game, that's more than the AA holds now.

Put on a show against CU, and the crowd will be there all season.

Speaking of the AA, I wonder what date they will complete construction. It would be great if the team(s) could get in there and practice before the season starts.

I remember hearing somewhere some advice coach K gave another coach about being successful and it was"Just make sure you have a better recruiting class than you did last year. If you can do that you will be successful." I think this coaching staff has been getting better and better kids every year. Each year has been their best class. Thats exciting.

What is the AA capacity going to be this year? Does anybody know?

I am nearly confident we will not have a sellout for the CU game, or any game this year. We haven't put 10k in there for a Men's game in almost 10 years and haven't topped 11k since the 02-03 season.

It's just not like it used to be.

The Pokes are going to win a lot of games in the AA this year though. The empty seats will see one heck of a show.

I'm stoked, i know that already, might be season ticket thinking time

I might do that to and get to as many games as possible with as much winter driving as I have to do. Let me know, we'll be the rowdy old guys in the student section.

As soon as we have a stretch of sustained success the fans will come back. We've been hit with losing our best player two seasons in a row, with a hot team and an upper tier MWC team. That's gut wrenching as a fan.

When we have the depth(which we do now) to sustain the loss of a key player, our success will be become sustained and the fans will come back. I think this season is going to put some asses back in the seats. We have a team with potential to make the NCAA tournament.

We need the year where we rise to contention without losing our best player. That killed the momentum the last two years. We need to be able to finish the season with our stars on the court. It will make a huge difference with the fan base.

It's coming. It's just not going as fast as anyone would like.

I think around 12,000 or a little more will be the new capacity.
for the coming season the capacity will be about 14,000. the majority of the capacity loss will be when the club section is being added in phase II.

I have more faith in the on court product (and Coach Shyatt) than I do in our fanbase. I hope you are right, but we only had 5800 for SDSU and 5400 for the Fresno game where Larry got hurt. If you go back to the late 90's with similar level teams (18 to 19 wins, borderline NIT) we were averaging 7-8k for the season and 9-10k for those types of games.
