Night before the game

If I understand correctly, the entire team is going to be staying at the hotel across the street before coming to the stadium about 10:30 a.m. -

Is it really worth the money to rent all those rooms, when they can be sleeping in their own beds?

I would think they do that to keep tabs on the team.. so they can do bed checks and make sure no one's out partying the night before until 2am. Plus it's a team unifier. Under Koenning's watch I remember seeing players the night before games with a 30 pack in hand at house parties trying to see how many they could finish, but bragging "they had a game tomorrow."

Evil, back in the early 70's Fritz Shurmer would take the team to Cheyenne Friday night and stay at Little America and then bus over on Sat morning. I think a lot of college football teams do this to keep kids out of trouble and think only about football.

You are correct. Dave is very focused on keeping the team thinking about only one thing...from Friday after class until kickoff. The expense isn't that great actually...but it is an expense UW didn't have last year. Maybe the NIKE contract is helping foot the bill.

I can certainly understand the reasoning behind it - I guess if it helps win football games, great -

I just know that money could really help out in other places in the department.
