I know we're a long ways out but lets get every ones early prediction on next years starting QB. I am going with what many people think of a long shot in Adam Barry

I can't make a pick because 2 of them have never been on the field for us plus Barry has never been in a game for us. It's totally up for grabs I think. I think it will be a whole new ballgame for all of them.

I'm surprised to see the number of votes for Adam Barry so far. I think Carta-Samuels has a better shot starting as a true freshman than Barry does.

I would have voted Benjamin if he were at UW for spring drills. But instead, I think Sween gets the nod with his experience and likely ability to run Christensen's offense.

I can't believe Crum is staying. I just don't see how he could ever be successful in this offense.

Too bad Stutzreim is not likely to lose 40 lbs, because he is sure fun to root for.

You don't want Stutz to loose 40 lbs. Then he wouldn't have that doofus look that makes you root for him. He is sort of like the football team's answer to Linskins.

Anyway, is high mobility a requirement got DC's offense? I actually don't know, so this is not a retorical question.

It depends on what you mean by "high mobility". Daniels wasn't exactly a burner or overly athletic. Christensen's offense requires a QB who can make throws on the run, scramble effectively when he needs to, and pick up some yards on a quarterback draw from time to time. We don't need a Pat White type of player to make this offense effective, although I'm sure DC would take a guy like that in a second. I think what is more important in DC's offense is that we have a guy that is very good at reading defenses, is quick in his progressions from receiver to receiver, and is accurate with his throws. I'm not convinced any of the QB's from Glenn's staff have that, but it will be interesting to see what Sween can do since he ran a similar offense in high school, has the most D1 experience, and will be here for spring ball. The again, maybe the college game is just too quick for him. I still see Benjamin or Carta-Samuels starting when it is all said and done. I really am shocked by all the support for Barry. I think Barry will see the writing on the wall when he is below Carta-Samuels when the fall depth chart is released. He won't have a much of a future as a Poke sitting below a true freshman on the depth chart. Look for him to transfer at seasons end.

Does anyone think that if Adam Barry plays next year and ACS gets redshirted, ACS will start over Barry the next year? If thats the case does Benjamin stick around? Any chance he changes position?

Christensen is going to play the best player regardless of age. He won't redshirt ACS just because he is a true freshman if he thinks he is the best quarterback on the roster. Frankly, the only way I see ACS getting redshirted is if he ends up 3rd or lower on the depth chart, and I don't see that happening. So, if Barry were to strat over ACS this year, it would mean that Christensen thinks Barry is a better quarterback. Thus, it would be highly unlikely that ACS would all of a sudden start over Barry the next season. I see Benjamin sticking around UW until the end. He will always be floating around the top of the depth chart, if not as the starter.

I think...DC is going to use "his guy" regardless. Call it dying by Benjamin. Very Bill Cockmaster-esque and Joe Glenn-esque. Maybe, then again, that will change if things don't appear to be working out. You know how those Wyoming fans are...they won't hesitate to voice displeasure if needbe.

Honestly my guess for the depth chart will be #1Barry, #2Benjamin, #3ACS but I can see with a year of watching learning, and adjusting ACS shoots up to #1 so that's why I can see ACS redshirting then beating out Barry.

That may very well be the way it turns out, but Dave Christensen may also do something totally different. It really depends on who surprises with their skill level and may not even be decided until this fall. This is going to get exciting.

I believe Sween will be on top coming out of spring ball. I also expect Crum to resurface and be listed #2 after the spring. Of course, they will be followed by Stutzriem and Barry. Fall will be very interesting to see if Sween can hold onto the job. I don't see it happening. #1-Benjamin, #2-Carta-Samuels, #3-Sween

You really don't think Benjamin or ACS will be top 4?!? CRUM at #2!! thats pretty bold. Sween is the X factor, either he's number 1 or he's number 4 ahead of only stutz and crum. I'm surprised crum is still here.

I was trying to make it clear that Sween would be #1 and Crum would #2 after SPRING ball. I certainly would hope Benjamin and ACS would not be included in the depth chart after the spring considering neither of them would have stepped a foot on the practice field. The way I see it playing out after the fall (with every QB on campus) is at the end. Again...#1-Benjamin, #2-ACS, #3-Sween

Sorry I need to start paying more attention to what I read. After Spring I'd say #1Barry, #2Sween, #3Stutz, #4 Crum

Doesn't matter when he knocks you out when you try to tackle him. :)

Now, I've been saying this ever since last year around this time....Barry (with a g-dam A not an E, for all you idiots on the other board) will be the guy regardless.

Whoever said that Dax is gonna hop back in the mix(at #2) needs to be shot :!: :!: in the foot, cuz boy..you'll feel stupid when it comes to the spring game.

Did you guys know that our highly-touted recruit ACS only threw for 1,000 yds his senior season (during the regular season...not counting those dam long cali playoffs). Sorry but that is NOT impressive. I'm more impressed with the linebacker-qb with the gun who's throwing 70yd touchdowns to Darin McDonald in practice these past few weeks. I'm going with the guy who, unlike ACS-who compared himself to TimTebow--, reminds me body-wise of a gator named TIMMMAYYY.

Barry gets the nod and ACS will be more likely to transfer. For those of us who are closer to the team than others, its a FACT that Barry will not transfer.

Good point but hopefully the line will hold so he can fling the ball to a promising wide out for 30+ yards or give him a good escape route so it won't be needed. I only see the Crum or Barry for this spring, each has strengths. I just hope there is some new insight on coaching players so they are greater and calling plays so fans can't predict them in the stands. If they accomplish these things this season, I would say we did okay. I think that sort of progress would also translate into some "W's" that we all can love. :D

I wonder if we will have a new catch phrase or are we just going to focus on the play? :)
