Hey gang, saw this on the other board:

My son is at Woodrow Wilson-Dallas Lincoln game. He told me that Wyoming nay have gotten a steal in WW PG Trey Washington. 25 of 1st 29 pts!

With all the experience and connections that Duncan and Larry have you'd think they'd recognize D1 talent where some others might miss ...

I think that is what they have got to do right now, take a chance on really promising juniors, sign them before they break out in their senior year. Trey Washington and Keonta Vernon are looking like total bad asses right now.
The way we are going to get better as a program is by getting these types of recruits, send a couple players to the NBA and make the Big Dance, or at least go far in the NIT. Then after that we can go after big recruits, at least bigger name recruits.

I am not surprised! This is what I expect from a quality coach. We will see, if trey and Keonta are d-1 ready when they get here, it could be a huge boost! I think the third recruit is quality as well but might need to grow into it more, like Larry

Vernon looks like he could help immensly with scoring (something we've desperately needed), and Trey Washington may end up being a really good PG that not only runs the offense, but can score without turning it over too much, but may need a year or two to grow into the position.

And overall, Shyatt knows what he is doing, and the kind of kid he is looking for. And I wish that The Boss would have had Shyatt (and us as well, for that matter) an extra 2 years, he would've been an All American.

I couldn't agree more. He would be going to the NBA for sure I believe.
I think we actually have some NBA talent on our team. People might call me crazy, but I think that if we somehow make a deep run in the NIT or make the Big Dance and Leonard makes a name for himself on the national scene he might make it. But I think our NBA talent is mostly with our underclassmen. Nance Jr. and Adams. Who knows about Hankerson.

I think the way the younger kids are developing during MWC play like Nance last year, and McManamen and Cooke now, players like Vernon and Washington will be able to develop the same way.

And hell, they actually might be developing before MWC play next year because we will have an actual bench next season and won't have to play our starters 35+ a game against Southern, etc.
It would be nice having an actual bench by the time the MWC season starts, instead of relying on blowouts to get the players any minutes and the trial by fire situations.
