I understand guys have reasons for moving on, but some are really kidding themselves if they see them in the shiny lights of those other guys. Doctson was an impact player as a freshman. Some of these guys aren't even seeing the field on a 2-10 football team. Granted the system is slightly more complicated but Bohl has found his fair share of talent at NDSU. If you're good, the league will find you.

I agree with all that you say....but they all think they can play at a higher level and until they leave and find out for themselves it is hard to change their mind.

From what I've gathered as a fan, the systems they run are overly complicated and take time to fully understand and that is where some of the problem has been. That is why Bohl was so successful at NDSU is because they didn't need to play all these freshman and had veterans who had been in the program and system for multiple years. If guys stick around the program success could easily grow but its hard if guys are ready to transfer after only 1 semester.

As I said in the other thread, I really hope that the very wide margin between us and the upper-third of one of the worst FBS conferences is due almost entirely to familiarity with the Offense and Defense.

In other words, I really hope you are right. I think experience will help a lot--or at least I hope experience helps a lot.

Pokes only lose 2 starters on each side of the ball. 3/4 of them have the potential to be sizable losses, especially at DE. But essentially everyone comes back.

It's still November of 2015, looking ahead to next fall is hard to project. The team went 2-10, far worse than expectations in the preseason where most demanded 5 wins at a minimum. This is WyoNation, every off-season it's the next season where things will be different. I go into this off-season with the mindset that the heavy amount of returning youth gives fans hope of a turnaround and bowl game in 2016, but the lessons from this season show nothing is guaranteed. We saw some good moments, and lots of bad ones.

One thing I think we can all agree on: 2016 needs to be the year of improvement. It needs to be obvious that things are getting better. Another 4 wins or less season will not suffice. 75% of FBS teams go bowling every year...this program needs to reach that threshold soon.

I said in an earlier post that several of them had indicated that they were going to transfer out of Wyoming. All for different reasons but I suspect the losses had an underlining motivation. Whether they will or not remains to be seen.

75% of FBS teams go bowling every year...this program needs to reach that threshold soon.

Agree - this should be our lowest level of achievement / expectations (6 & 6 bowl game), every year.

And unfortunately, that is looking like a massive (and distant) task at this point.

a 4-8 3-9 unacceptable, but 5-7 or better that's good improvement for me, but the year after next if we aren't a factor in the MWC Mountain Divison and not in a Bowl then it's time for Bohl to go!
