Who the hell is Glenn Mason? Last I heard it was some former coach at UCF that was a front runner for the job.
He must have been the cheapest hire.

Your right when I first looked at Wikipedia it said coach of New Mexico now it is gone.zappinpoke said:

Glen Mason wasn't terrible. He knew how to recruit skill position players (see all the great RBs Minnesota had during his tenure). The problem was, he couldn't do a damn thing on Defense, and in the Big 10, his best just wasn't good enough to get over the hump of the Ohio State-Michigan-Wisconsin crowd consistently. Once he could no longer recruit top notch skill position players, the program went downhill in a hurry.
Side note: I've actually met the guy in person, as he was the keynote speaker at an athletic banquet my H.S. had right after he was hired for the Minnesota job. Nice guy. New Mexico could do worse than him.
