Arroyo had officially been given the position as OC of the University of Wyoming, around lunchtime today. He was a former SJSU QB, GA, QB Coach, Asst. O Coordinator. A 28 year old OC...must be a real talent & great coach! Best of Luck to him!

Here is the Wiki on Arroyo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus_Arroyo

Also, in other semi-breaking news..."Powder River - Let Er Buck" is officially dead at UW. And that is probably a good thing, as that was a Joe Glenn cheer, not a UW cheer...despite what anyone says / thinks. Dave needs to create a new identity and turn the page on the Joe Glenn era, and eliminating that cheer is part of the deal. Hats off to Dave & UW for making that call.

Oh ya, and almost forgot...

Was told that former Director of Football Operations Petrino will "probably" remain in that capacity. Also heard a former UW safety will get a GA position this coming year.

The following season, 2007, Spartans performed poorly finishing 5-7 due to Arroyo's horrible play calling. The 2008 season started off well, with the Spartans going 3-0 for the first time in the school's history, with Arroyo as the co-offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach, working with current starter Kyle Reed.

That's not what you want to hear!

Yeah.. this could be good or bad.. eek. :?

Yeah, we will have to wait and see. I see some benefit to a young hungry energetic staff. If DC is smart, he will be very responsive to weaknesses and make quick decisions to fix problem areas - that was my biggest complaint about JG, we seemed to have the same issues year after year. Address the issue quickly and emphatically, with new drills, punishment, rewards, coaches, whatever, just fix it fast and move on to the next problem area.

Example: If you miss going to a bowl game because of poor kicking, how is it an issue 2 yrs later? Don't even get me started on the turnover thing!

Holy Crap! An actual QB coach??? Who would have thunk that's something required to be competitive at the FBS level? I know, Cockhill and Cole were "the QB coach" as well, but I never got the feeling they really knew how to coach a QB. This guy has been a QB, and coached them as well. Plus, I think DC will have a big hand in coordinating the offense, which will allow Arroyo time to focus on the QB's.

The more I hear about Christensen and his staff, the more I like what's happening in Laramie. Now let's just hope it translates to wins on the field sooner rather than later!

And hey Peachy, who's the former safety getting a GA position? Is it the other Ray brother, or someone else?

GO POKES!

I don't know KP, but you've got to stop being so cryptic. ;) Some of us over here that aren't "in the know" won't be able to infer who or what you're referring to!

So what's the scoop?

Hey WellPoke - Merry Xmas- I saw Kristin and her new hubby last week.

anyways - smiley got popped for a dui and is still employed - people are starting to wonder why

And to you KP. New hubby huh? Hadn't heard that one. Drop me a line at natesassano@yahoo if you get a minute.

Is that in the standard UW contract? or is it some kind of 3 strikes policy?
