New turf at the War

Ya know, I liked it in the rendering but I wasn't crazy about it. Looks GREAT in real life though.
 
I think it looks like one of the best turf fields in the country. I really like how it looks especially the end zones. The one area I was skeptical about was the two shades of turf in the field, however they made it to be that they are only slightly different and it looks fantastic. I am excited to go check it out when I head up there on the 30th.
 
I really hope that all video is in HD this year, otherwise this field might get an 8bit quality feeling to it on TV.

Not sure if the rubber has been added yet (or even if it get's added) or if it has been groomed / brushed, but I would guess if not, it will tone it down a bit, and take away some of the "shine".

Anyone that visited - did you walk on it or look close enough to tell?
 
Don't get me wrong - i think the field is sharp. It's tough to catch the charm it presents when standing in front of it. But, I don't think it is a field you want to see live on tv in SD. Way to many lines - I think you'll start seeing horizontal stripes when you should only see vertical.
 
Hey everyone,

A couple things...

1. Don't worry about the "lines" and the faded look on the green. I am a track and field coach at a small college in Iowa and we are currently getting our field turf updated as well. Once they put the rubber and sand in it'll look amazing.

2. Right now there is one thing I am not proud if with Wyoming football. Our defense. Hopefully that will turn around this year.

But I am extremely proud of the War. Those pics posted make that stadium look amazing. I love it. I hope our Pokes can take it to the cornhuskers a and to the mwc this year.
 
The infill does wonders for the look of the turf. Not sure if they use sand first then rubber, but it makes the turf stand. It will look better. My backyard is intelli-turf. It's awesome. Warm on a sunny day. Field looks great!!! Maybe we wear gold and get a little Boise st advantage with our WRs in the end zone

Sure beats the look of that smurf turf anyhow.

They did use sand. I watched them spread it the other day.
