New Sheep AD wants an on-campus stadium

Would probably cut down on some DUIs or drunk drivers as well. Plus a huge benefit to the students. These tree huggers that bitch about "focus should be on academics" and "schools don't need sports, academics only" piss me off to no end. Athletics is the only way some of these kids would even get to go to college.. but these tree hugger academics don't seem to get that. Plus.. how many schools can you name without athletics as part of their university?

I must be in the minority, but I actually think that the idea makes long-term sense from a design standpoint.

I actually agree with that, I just think the execution to this point has been poor and most of the arguments for the new stadium make no sense. It's not something that's needed right now, and it isn't something you take on when the team is as bad as CSewe has been recently. The issue is turning an already jaded populace against not just the athletic program, but the university has a whole.

But you bring up a good point. Tthe issue does have the potential to be a distraction for a new coaching staff and program, which I wouldn't complain about in the least.

GO POKES!

and above all, spectator sports are a MAJOR part of the college experience....without 'em you might as well just shut the doors cause ain't nobody enrolling

If they get it done, good for them. CSU movin' up in the college world.

Was this sorme sort of contest for junior high students in art class? Watercolor drawings are their renderings of a future stadium. I don't think they get the funding to do this.

Some of the estimates say it will cost $250 million! That's an insane amount.......it seems an unlikely endeavor, but their administration seems to be going forward with it. Would be a game changer in the mountain range for sure.

Because between the weather and the altitude we have one of the nastiest home field advantages in the country. Give me a 10 degree game in the middle of a blizzard any day over a climate controlled dome!

I agree to some degree......but as a passing team this could actually offer a slight disadvantage and will definitely keep fans away.

The biggest advantage is obviously the elevation (and fans when they are there) and to gas the defenses, you need a fast pace.

But hopefully we are going to be a better team hands down with the home advantages as just an added bonus.
